It is being widely reported on the internets today that Nintendo Power magazine is done. Once NoA moves out of Seattle to (probably) San Francisco, Nintendo Power will be over.
Personally, I will greatly miss this fanzine. I have many, many childhood memories of anxiously awaiting the magazine every two months (it started out as a bi-monthly). I even got a few free issues in the mail from Nintendo after buying a Wii, and I enjoyed getting them and was planning on subscribing again, but obviously I'm a bit late to the party now!
Rest in peace (if you are indeed truly dead) Nintendo Power.

Yeah, I would be surprised if they kill it. But who knows?
I am kind of down on videogame mags in general anyways. They either seem to be too dumbed down and fluffy, or geared to frat boy culture.
I know you can find anything you want bout games online, but I thinkmagazines still have their place, if they are done right. But maybe subscriptions are down across the board due to them obviously being so far behind the internet, timewise. Maybe you have to focus more on general trends, previews and history, and not so much on news.

Good riddance. As much as I love Nintendo, I've hated Nintendo Power ever since 2001 when they changed the review system from a logical 1 - 10 for five categories :graphics, play control, game design, satisfaction and sound to a simple star grade and summary. In addition the entire magazine structure that I came to love was completely changed and ruined.

I don't care for IGN much at all. I might even say I prefer Nintendo Power to it, and I don't really care for that one either

Some of us have old computers that can't GET on IGN, Gamespot or other sites like that. I can't. In addition, I have 3 broken verterbrae and can't sit for too long (and could never afford a laptop), so I NEED my magazines! In addition to NP and EGM I found a cool new mag this month, Hardcore gamer, that has a lot of oldtime & Japan only stuff. Pretty cool 'zine!

I also subscribe to a video game magazine (Games for Windows, formerly Computer Gaming World). I have found most gaming websites to be pretty crappy, with bad reviews that don't tell me what I want to know about the games I'm interested in. Although lately even my gaming magazine has been pissing me off with tons of "interviews" and "previews" at the expense of actual reviews of games that are out NOW, so I may even let this subscription slip away once it's time runs out.

Pfft. Nintendo Power was always just a corporate commercial. It's bad enough to have to pay to see commercials on TV. It's worse to willingly pay for a "magazine" that's nothing but a commercial!
