We've had lists of stupid games and bad games (these are fun!), what I'm looking for are games that simply should NEVER HAVE EVEN BEEN STARTED! Dumb liscenses, or too powerful games on less powerful systems, etc...

For a starter, I always shake my head at GILIGANS ISLAND for the NES. When I first saw the ad I thought it was a magazine joke! I coudln't beieve it was A REAL GAME! For the NES!!!! Now, I admit, I grew up in the 70's and watched Giligan reruns, but those were LONGGGG gone by the time NES came out. I mean, how many NES users-mostly kids-had even HEARD of Giligans Island except in passing that it was an awful show? I kept thinking, "When are they going to make a LEAVE IT TO BEAVER game"!?

Pretty much anything that Buena Vista makes other than KH.  Zack and Cody and Zoe and Kim Possible and the list goes on and on...ENOUGH WITH THE CRAP!

The old Monty Python games (from the cd-i, I think). They were just so...pointless. You can't emulate Monty Python's comedy in a game.

And what do all these games have in common? - They're game licenses!

Hmmm, I would have to say:

1). Virtual Fighter 2(genesis): Why was this game even considered?!

2). Mortal Kombat(game boy): I'm actually lumping in ALL of the MK titles for the game boy regular. Sloppy, choppy, watered down, and missing the main attraction of the series!

3). Cliffhanger(all platforms): Ummm, this wasn't really a good choice for a license. In the movie, there were about six villains but somehow there are tons and tons of the same friggin' enemy!! It was just a stupid game!

Those are the three that spring immediately to mind.

Actually, there was an old DOS PC and AMIGA Monty Python game that captured the humour of the series bloody well.

You played in an animated cartoon enviorment just like the cut and paste look of the show's animated segmants, and played a Mr. Gumby trying to get his body and brain back (you switched bodies with things like fish)....best of all you collected bonus food items, most of which was SPAM, and at the end it was tallied up as a granny woman Said "Spam, Spam, Eggs and spam, spam-spam, spam, bacon and spam, spam..." ... it was hilarious and very true to the show. I miss my AMIGA! ):

Heh, they made an Animaniacs game not too long ago either. Sure, Animaniacs was a great show, but this game WAS nothing more than a generic license cash-in intended for the younger fan crowd, and picking a license that haven't been seen on TV for 10 years or so might not be the best move if you're going to do that.

Practically every Discovery Channel game:
Monster Garage and American Chopper come to mind.

Home Improvement for the SNES. Whose bright idea it was to base a game on a SITCOM? What they couldn't get Urkel or Danny Tanner to star in a game?
