So what's wrong with Red Steel?

I rented this game and I'm glad I did.   I would assume its bad reviews have to do with its competition, on the 360 and PS3.  Lets face it, this game isn't even in the same league as Gears of War.   But its a good game.

I have a huge problem though.  You reload and also use your melee attack by making motions with the nunchuk.  It seems half the time I try stab a close enemy witht the sword, I reload instead?   What the hell?   How can I make sure that I swing the sword instead of reloading? Or is it just flawed and I shouldn't use melee period?

Oh yeah I also want to comment on the production values of this game.  This game is hilarious.  I had a enemy stand in the middle of the air while shooting.  Sometimes when you open a door the enemies won't shoot.  Sometimes they stand around.  One time I opened a door, an enemy on the other side said "You're gonna die Im gonna kill you"  Then he just stood there for 2 seconds doing nothing while I killed him.  But those are rare glitches, and the AI is pretty good at using cover most the time.

And these voices are awful.   The asians in the game don't sound like real asians, and sound like white people voicing them while making fun of asians.   They overexagerate the Ls and Rs to the extreme.  Also the black guys have the same voices as the white guys, and those voices are extremely "white."  I guess I can't put in words as you would have to hear it, but it is hillarious to here a black guard in the game say "stop right there" while sounding something like Patric Swayze.  But I guess these bad voices add to the comedic value though.

I would say Red Steel is like an 80's Arnold movie. Good fun but cheesey.

I liked Grand Theft Auto type games, but I absolutely love The Godfather for Wii.[/QUOTE]

Me too.

Geez guys... this game is hard to play. I'm glad you guys like it, but it sounds like a few of you are bitten by the Wii bug.

FUNK

It certainly isn't me.  I've recently realized what a bad idea buying a system in its first year is.  There's nothing to play and everything costs a million dollars.

Good. Folks like you not buying a system increased my chances of snagging one. Which is a great thing, because I've been playing lots of different games that I enjoy very much on it .

If the "Wii Bug" is a bad thing, then I don't want to be good! But I'm also bitten by the Xbox 360 bug too!
