Now, Metroid Prime 2 sucked but that WAS rushed and that is proof that companies need to take their time, even if it means delaying a game countless times.

I didn't think Metroid Prime 2 sucked at all, but it definitely wasn't as good as the first one.

I bet that means no multiplayer.

I'm interested in MP3 for one reason: If Metroid Prime 3 sucks because of controls you can forget the FPS genre if you have a Wii only.

No doubt this is a big game for the Wii. Maybe the most important one this year. I will definetly rent this when it comes out and see. Good game to get with some beer and pizza and make a night of it.

That sounds about right.  Assuming how bad FPS Wii games like Far Cry: Vengence are, if there's any game that can be the savior of the FPS genre for the Wii and its control scheme, it's Metroid Prime 3.  In a way, it's the Bobby Kennedy of Nintendo's white box.

Initial reports on the control say it is exactly what it needs to be, and that it truly rivals a keyboard and mouse setup.  Hopefully the rest of the game will live up to the controls if they are done right.

Keyboard and mouse? Whew! That is a pretty big boast since the analog stick is still the king of fps console control. I am sure Nintendo will get it right but nothing will rival the pc controls. I love FPS so naturally this a pretty good reason for me to buy a Wii. I am just saddened by the complete lack of new IP's and originality on the Wii...it's pathetic.

I actually like the analog stick control, it takes practice but skill is rewarded! Autoaim is for sissies, one of the EA crappy Bond's had automatic autoaim on the lower difficulty levels. Talk about garbage. If Nintendo wasn't so proud they would include a control setting that utilized the GC controller or classic controller. I am not saying the Wimote won't work, but nothing is wrong with options.

I feel your pain Shawn, it seems like Nintendo just milk's their same franchises to a slow death, but now you can shake that controller like a death rattle. You should check out the PS3, it has awesome graphics! I can't wait to shell out another $60 for the next Madden, just give me the updated rosters and I am ready to go. I'm sure I could get basicaly the same game for $5 if I was willing to buy the year old version, but it hurts my eyes when each player is only made up of 2000 polygons, I bet another Tony Hawk game will come out soon too, and lets keep our fingers crossed for some next-gen street racing games! By the way, Bluray video are getting their prices slashed all over the internet, I am hoping they rerelease 'Elizabethtown", I have the original on DVD twice, but if they throw in some more director's commentary, I'll buy it for sure.

Ughh, I have a headache - see you guys tommorrow.

Well I'd definitely finish the first one first.  Metroid prime 1 is far better than Metroid prime 2.    Appearently, for Metroid Prime 2, they felt they needed to make the game longer by adding a dual world system like Zelda LTTP, which just adds a ton of backtracking and bores you.   Also the evil world is bright purple and hurts my head to look at.   Whose great idea was this?  So basically its the same game, but with a far worse and more confusing world.  Stick with the first, and only get the second only if you absolutely must have more, but less quality, Metroid.

I am not a fan of FPS at all, so to me the inclusion of auto aim was excellent.  An FPS is all about the skilled use of tactical long-range weapons, and by skill, I mean the skill of the gamer to target naturally using an analog stick or a mouse rather than some automatic centering button, while also keeping away from enemy fire by moving quickly out of the way or to cover.  Metroid is not about to that to me, so Metroid Prime couldn't really be about that either if it was going to keep me interested in the game as a Metroid game.

Nine times out of ten when I shoot in Metroid it's just to get creatures out of my way so I can build up some necessary move to open up another part of my environment, whether that be a speed buster or building up a stored shinespark.  The auto aim allows me to treat Metroid Prime in that same way -- as just another Metroid game, where shooting is peripheral, while conquering your environment like one huge puzzle is still primary.  I can target and kill right away so that these creatures don't stand between me and my next goal at another location.

I think one of my complaints about Metroid Prime Hunters was that it was too much like an FPS to keep my interest.  I liked it a lot at first, and the touch-screen controls were well done for sure, but I don't play Metroid games for an FPS experience, and it quickly became apparent to me that that's what I was getting in MPH, rather than a traditional Metroid game.  Metroid Prime was a first-person adventure first, and if anything like an FPS, it's only an afterthought for me.  MPH did the opposite by cutting out most of the adventure part while adding too much of the reliance on skilled shooting.  Having absolutely loved MP1 and 2 for the opposite design decision, I don't want to see that same thing happen to MP3.
