Ever kick yourself for missing a good e-bay auction. I was waiting till the end for 16-bit remake of River City Ransom for the Turbo Duo. The Kunio games are my favorite of all time. I made a mental note to be home for the end. I got home ate dinner and just realized I missed it by about half a hour. The game usually goes for outrages prices rivaling Rondo of Blood (100+ dollars). I saw the final price of 30$ and kicked myself. Oh well, maybe it will show up again someday.

Exactly - there is always tomorrow. The key to getting good deals is being able to walk away. (I know thats not really relevant to your post, but there is always another chance.)
Also, watch a half dozen of the same items at a time, and sometimes if you do a slightly screwy search, you will run into less seen listings. Example, I searched for Advance Wars instead of Advance Wars DS. You still get DS listings, and they will go for a litle less because more buyers will search for and find the more specific title.
I consider EBAY to be my personal videogame collection, it just costs a touch more to take out then to put back in, but in many cases you can have a game for as long as you want for less than a rental. Cons include the hassel of shipping, possibility of an occasional screw job, and occasional I get annoying scam emails. Ah, EBAY.

I HATE ebay because I can't use it! I used to find good deals at goodwill, garage sales and the like. On the rare chance someone DOES sell an old vid-game at these now, 90% of the time the prices are crazy, instead of 99 cents for old 2600 games, they want ten bucks each!
I cannot use Ebay because my Ex ran up my credit; no creditcard, no can use Ebay.
More than anything I would like to find a good deal on a simple old Odyssey2 and a few more common O2 games like UFO (I already have a boxed KC munchkin I found years ago) ... I know they sell them on Ebay, but I'm left out. ):

Of course you can. Either by money order, personnal cheque or paypal. I don't have a credit card but still use paypal. Register my bank account with paypal and use echeques. Sure it takes forever to clear but its safer than using a money order and the money gets taken directly out just like using a debit card.

Years ago, we would have sleepovers at my friend's place and play River City Ransom until the sun came up.
That game was the straight dope!
