Freakazoid. If that doesn't count, since it's not really a show for adults, then South Park.

"Ren and stimpy"....I meant mordern cartoons. If we are to mention classic, I think the Warner Bros. and Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons were full of biting humor that often only adults would get....they were "adult" without being dirty. I remember when THE FLINTSTONES were as big as THE SIMPSONS are now. Someone mentioned this, but there was an evolution there from The Honeymooners-The Flintstones-The Simpsons-Family Guy. I never liked Baevis & Butthead but liked the DARIA spinoff.
I was about ready to toss THE BOONDOCKS set....the third cartoon on the first disc, about grandad falling in love with a hooker, was at LAST handled with some decency. Except for ""hoe", no profanity or nudity at all..I thought "at last, THIS is the way the series should have STARTED." (plus it was about a woman pretending to love to get the guys money, which WAS my marriage so I identified with it)... so I remain on the fence, we'll see if this continues to mellow out.
HAS anyone heard of a THE BOONDOCKS videogame? with "Black/Rap culture" being prevelant in many mordern games, I can see this appealing to some groups. Try to get Huey to the demonstration while avoiding the "hoes", pimps, drug dealers and bad cops!

Well I'm not sure how Ren and Stimpy isn't a modern cartoon. It debuted in 1991, a few years after The Simpsons. There was also a comeback of the series in 2003 on Spike TV.
On a side note I think Stimpy's Invention on the Genesis was one of the best cartoon based games in the 16 bit era. I know The Critic gave it a harsh review, but I think it was pretty good.
The Simpsons also have had there fair share of decent games as well...most of em were turds though.

Yes, Ren and Stimpy is as modern as anything else out there. It started the whole trend that made cartoon animation look the way it does today. Take a look at the animation styles and the subject matter before and after Ren and Stimpy. There is an obvious and distinct difference. Of course, Ren and Stimpy, while on the surface appears to be just simple crude humor, is one of the great cartoons of all time. With entirely new methods of animation and styles of humor. "Baby Scam" makes me about fall out of my chair laughing just thinking about it. The best Ren and Stimpy episode ever.

Well, I meant Ren and Stimpy wasn't still on the air... not that's it not "of the mordern age" ... it's the Dreamcast of cartoons, OK? I liked it a LOT. Stimpys magic nose garden. Whiz on the electric face. And who can forget "It's LOG it's LOG for fun it's a wonderful toy!" (: I don't get why it was cancelled. It was Gross, but haven't babies and little kids throughout history been Gross? I doubt removing it from the air has stopped booger jokes from flying!

Okay, one more post and I'll shut up!
I misjudged THE BOONDOCKS. The first two episodes were horrible but apparantly the DVDs contained uncensored footage not shown on TV. It was disgusting, and they should have left it off.
Thank heavens the writers started coming to their senses. As I said, the third episode was decent and I just watched the fourth. At last told from Huey's perspective it was smart and funny and sad all at once. A mean , really rotten old man smashes into Grandads car and starts a fight... eventually Grandad retaliates only to find the guy had cancer and he killed him. No charges were brought against the old dude, but his character was changed. Huey tried to tell him that the only way to win a fight was NOT TO FIGHT! WELL DONE! Thumbs Up, Dudes!

Boondocks is good. I can only watch an episode once or twice before I'm sick of it though. The MLK one is a treasure.

I don't dig the Boondocks, though I can see there's something going on there.
For me, it's all about Futurama.
Family Guy has been getting a bit weak. South Park, this season, had two good episodes and the rest were blah (also, what's with the homeless Dawn of the Dead episode? Aren't they a few years late on that?). American Dad, as a series, started off strong and got stupid in a hurry. The Simpsons went south for me about halfway through season 10.
On the anime side, I love Cowboy Bebop (man, what a summer when I discovered that show!) and I dig Paranoia Agent (some episodes less than others). But Samurai Champloo does little for me and TriGun, though showing potential, has a little too much of the "I have a big sword!" thing going on that is so very typical of anime.
When I was a kid I loved StarBlazers (still remember it fondly) and Voltron. And Transformers series 1.
For me, it's all about Futurama.

I will see the movie at least 5 times in theaters. Never in my life have I cared so much about a movie. I am probably gonna paint myself yellow and spike my hair for the opening to look like (a slightly older) Bart. I'm not kidding.
Simpsons forever!
