You are funny fever! Seriously, I am busting up right now. You should put your notice in at work today and take your act on the road. I love party games. I love the Wii. It is the most amazing system ever created. Oh my God, the motion controls are perfect. Every game is an A+. When I play Mortal Kombat I really feel like Johny Cage. Thank you Nintendo!!!!!!!! I can't wait to play Mario in Hell! Mario Power Lacross! Mario and Sonic Olympics!!!!!! Oh Party Games! I love them!!!!!!!!!!!!! Party! Party! Party!
Yes I have played party games with a group of people and yes I have had a good time but I can't hang my hat on system that doesn't seem to produce much else.
What? Mario Party 9? Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[/QUOTE]
I didn't even say I loved party games to you. I said you were childish. The fact that you weren't able to understand why I would think that and that you responded with the same infantile ramblings doesn't help your case. Also, go easy on the exclamation points. That many is basically a written temper tantrum.
I don't care if you don't like the Wii. I do care if every post you contribute is the exact same lame thing over and over. Give it up; it's stupid.

Man, lay off Shawn. You guys get so worked up over everything he says. The guys could say that the sky is blue and you guys would get all pi$$ed off at him. Loosen up.
I have a GC AND Mario party, and yes, I'm a little sick of mini games. But, it is the only game my wife will play so I cowboy up and play a quick round with her (I grin and smile the entire time).

Give me a break, Flo! He's not saying the sky is blue! He's CONSTANTLY saying Nintendo sucks, accusing us all of bias and dishonesty, and throwing tantrums like a little girl on steroids. When he shuts up complaining about us all the time, we shut up complaining about him.

The reason this keeps happening is because yall react the same exact way everytime he says something like that. Yall are just feeding this stuff and are just as guilty as he is.
Let it go....just cuz he says something does NOT mean you have to react. I kinda messes with the quality of the site it seems.

This "don't feed the trolls and they'll go away" myth on forums is totally out of whack with reality. It assumes trolls are "fed" by arguements, and live for retorts. That isn't the case at all. Most trolls make one or two posts in a topic and then run away to come back and attack again in another topic. The actually don't like debate, because they don't have the skills to win them.
Trolls are not "fed" by debate, they are fed by insulting other people. Shawn, and trolls like him, get their jollies not from the debate, but from the "fun" of insulting other people. He will no more go away if ignored than a bully will go away forever if you just keep giving him your lunch money and turning a blind eye to him beating other kids up. Even if you said nothing back, trolls know they insult you when they call you names, because they aren't entirely stupid. I could say "Bob enjoys torturing baby animals and beating up his children", and even if he didn't respond, I would know that that was not something he, or other board members, liked to read. If I did that in every thread Bob was in, even were no one to respond, I would be very aware it annoyed a lot of people.
As long as you are on a forum to be insulted, people like Shawn will be there to do it.

Baloney! Reacting to someone's stupidity is a natural thing to do, and in no way imputes ethical responsibilty for the original purposeful stupidity.

Ignoring a troll is just one of the many acceptible ways to handle such a situatinn, each possible method having to do with the personality of the troll in question. But you're treating it as if it were the only way, and not only that but trying to impute equal responsibility for the original trolling for not treating that method as a black box. If you had just stated or implied the former, you'd have only been wrong, but as you've done the latter, you're basically turning into an apologist for his trolling.

Yeah, I have to agree with Fever and m0zart here. I think we've tried ignoring him, heck, some of us have even gotten a sort of "Stockholm Syndrome" where we start to attack the people putting out his shortcomings!
I don't have all day to fend off every ridiculous comment made by Shawn. But every once in awhile he needs to get an intellectual smackdown. Not for his sake: I doubt he cares or is particularly moved by our points. But you make a good argument for the lurkers, those reading the threads that are outside the argument.
That's something that's useful to keep in mind for threads and internet discussion boards that go far beyond the inconsequential (but fun!) video game debates that take place here. When I pop into a message board to respond to someone I disagree with, my hope isn't so much to change that person's mind, but to affect those who are viewing from afar.
@ m0zart. Lol. Sometimes reading your posts is like reading Conrad or T.E. Lawrence. I have to squint, load up merriam webster.com, and parse the prose. And I don't mean that in a perjorative sense (-:

No, he's a full grown troll. If he were in utero, I'd be slappin his mother.
