I have had problems with two consoles and everywhere I turn online is filled with horror stories.  Is it just not worth it?

Mine keeps giving me the three red lights of death.  I thought I had fixed the problem by moving it to a shelf that was more open to letting the hot air escape, but lately it started happening again no matter what I do.  I finally decided to call support about it.  They are sending the box to ship it to them in.

One thing to keep in mind is that Microsoft now gives a full year warranty for the machine, so if your machine has a problem, playing it often is likely to make the problem show up within a year.

Well, it's more worth it than the PS3, since it has a brighter future and more games to play, but Microsoft definately has some problems with the 360 that they need to address.  Thankfully, if you do have problems (like I do; 360 games sometimes failing to load), the one year warranty is quite nice.  So I guess it's up to you, but if you really are interested in it, there are a lot of good things going for it.  And if you do buy one, perhaps your system will work perfectly; I have a friend, for instance, that's had one since launch and it's never given him any problems.
