Anyone collect Video Game music?
Anyone else collect game scores? What are your favorites?
Does anyone own the Mercenaries soundtrack, which I have thought about ordering; or does anyone know where I can find the Call of Duty: Finest Hour soundtrack?

Sorry, I guess I should have clarified. I meant orchestral game music.

I love 8-bit games but seriously, the golden age of game music was the 16-bit era. THUDERFORCE 3, FIRESHARK, SONIC, GUNSTAR HEROES, INSECTORX, AXELAY, ACTRAISER...I could go on.
There were many good 8 bit Shooter scores though, ZANAC is crazy rock and LIFEFORCE is very good too. I'll never forget MEGAMAN 2.

However I love game covers. My favorites are the Smash Bros. Live Orchestra album and Last Level by Brian Davis.

I buy and play some of it, but I don't collect it per se. There are a few hard-to-get gems that I've found and purchased, like the Eternal Darkness soundtrack that Nintendo was going to release with Nintendo Power subscriptions as part of a promotion. They were printed but never actually released, and as a result, every now and then a pristine copy shows up on eBay.

Dood, pick up the Actraiser Symphonic Suite. It's amazing.

[QUOTE=Will]Ha! Well, you are right in a sense. I think everyone born between 1978 and 1988 has the Mario theme imbedded in their DNA. And I certainly wouldn't mind hearing the music from the NES "Batman" game again. I seem to remember it being very good.

It is good. I was playing it the other night. If you have an NES you should pick it up; the game itself is good, too.
