What's so great about Timesplitters?

Postby a1 » June 10th, 2007, 7:11 pm

I only find the game fun on multiplayer. Playing through campaign alone is boring, but play it on co-op and it's pretty fun. It's also fun to take turns on the mission mode (can't remember what it's called); some of them have really insane tasks, like lasting 2-minutes without being lit on fire by a bunch of flaming monkeys. Of course, split-screen 4-player is where it's really at. It's extremely hectic, and always a blast.

I hated TS2 on xbox and I thought that part 3 was pants.  I cannot see what the whole who ha is about.  They are only good as multiplayer and must be aimed at kids as one player.... I did like the goldeneye level on the 2nd game and the the mars level on the third game (it might have been a desert level) but one level on each game is not enough to save them in my opinion....

It doen't fail on humor and imagination, which is rare in a shooter. Doesn't rely on gore. It's as close as you can come to Goldeneye on GC, although the single player campaign is not so hot. Not terrible, and it has its moments, but I never once even came close to caring about the main charachers, El Generico and La Generica.

I do like the multiplayer, and mulitplayer supporting cast , and there is a good amout of mp variety and even a level creator, albeit hurt by limited memmory. But if you play around you can make some decent levels, (I made a perfect scale rep of PACMAN, which was o.k.)  because most of the MP maps are plain too big, and the weapons too big and too fast as well, unless you like filling the level up with bots. Some of the weapons are major overkill, but you don't have to use them, either.

Its an above average game, GC controller works perfect with it.
