"There never was a colored Vectrex..."

Not true. MB developed a Color Vectrex just before the system
died. It never made it past the prototype stage but a full
Color Vectrex(complete with a Color "Minestorm") DOES exist.

If you have one, I'd gladly pay a Zillion bucks for it. Just
ship it to my freind's address and bill him.

I stand corrected, eh, the price has now gone up to a cool $1,000,000 large.  Thanks Alienblue.  I'll split the proceeds with ya.

Oh don't get me started. I have just finished dealing with a real nightmare of a seller as I described in another thread.

As an interesting post script I have since been contacted by another buyer to say he is having exactly the same problem. Guess I was unlucky enough to meet a con artist.

Of course they were equally unlucky to meet me. ha

The reason the seller wouldn't ship to your address is because PayPal protection only extends to the address on the account.  Basically, if you claimed he never shipped it, and he admits he shipped it to an address not on the account, you could get a full refund and he couldn't do anything about it.  That's why he wouldn't do it.  He's not being an a-hole; he's just being a smart seller.  I sell video game stuff on eBay too, and I do the same thing in addition to putting delivery confirmation on all of my items.

Buyers are the real a-holes.  I sold a fully working PS2 to a guy, who upon receiving the system claimed it didn't work.  PayPal wouldn't side with me, and gave him a full refund upon shipping it back to me.  He did, and I had over $100 yanked from my PayPal with no warning.  Here's the kicker: the system he sent back WAS NOT THE ONE I SHIPPED.  Bullcrap.  I've also had people try to claim that they didn't receive items to try and get a full refund through PayPal.  Delivery confirmation FTW (or FTL, if you're them).

I agree.  When I sell systems on eBay, I make sure to note the serial number of the system in the auction (including a photo) and in the information to the Paypal buyer.  That way there is more proof that the right system changes hands even on returns.

I had such an ordeal with a gift I ordered for my wife for Christmas that I created a webpage detailing the experience and left the URL as my feedback.  I got several emails from would-be buyers who decided to steer clear of the guy after they read my story.  The guy finally (five months later) refunded me my money so I'd make the page go away.

It's a jungle out there, no doubt.

Ok, the seller who posted that we buyers are A-holes (I am a confirmed B-hole thankyouverymuch!) did NOT point out in their accounts that I understood the sellers original concearn and it was agreed he could ship to my freind, the SAME address on the paypal account. So why wouldn't he? We are not talking about a $500 rare game here, we are talking a used, incomplete $12 O2 system! Are you sure this isn't just a case of which side of the fence you are on? I'm sure the world is full of jerks and you could lose money either way, but lets leave out the blanket condemations (if a small brown dog bites you, that obviously means every small brown dog in the world is dangerous,etc..)
I still side with whoever said, they didn't get enough to bother shipping the system, so they backed out. Doesn't mean ALL sellers are bad- I got a GBA game much this same way a year ago, it worked out fine-but not all BUYERS are bad either!
