C. I play fun games, not games from time period x. If it's fu, it's fun, regardless of release date.

C

I just like fun games, regardless of the system its on. I'm just as likely to be playing a classic like River Raid as a game on a modern system. Not a E or a D for sure, I'd much rather be playing a excellent current game than a game that sucked 20 years ago on some obscure classic system that was a failure when it was current.

B.
I like older games, but the controls and gameplay mechanics are usually much fresher and deep in the newer games.

Well that's hardly the way the choice really works.  It isn't good new game vs. bad rare obscure old game on terrible system.  It's which do you generally prefer and play.  The way you've worded it would be like me saying:
I'm E because the NES beats the Hyperscan.

I'd say C, but leaning a bit towards the D side.

I suppose it depends on what you mean by "old". To me, "old" is anything up to and including the SNES and Genesis....so I'll vote "D". I'd rather play an Intellivision or NES game over a LOT of today's games. (I must be getting old!)

Your post doesn't make much sense Atarifever. I'm just saying I'm not going to go crazy about something that is average at best like Missing in Action for the Atari 7800 because I'm restricting myself to classic systems and I'm eager to play something new for them even if it sucks.

I'm not that kind of gamer, I like to have fun. Be it a modern game or a classic game, if its a good game I'll play it.

Overall, I guess I'm a C, though I've been more of a B lately.

And what I was saying was that no one anywhere implied that that was the question at hand.  The question isn't "will you blindly play any old game, just because it's old".  Alienblue simply asked which, if either, you play more or generally prefer.  No one is asking if you would choose Missing in Action at the expense of enjoying Halo 3.  For example, I said D and leaning toward E because I generally prefer to play pick-up and play games, and there is more than enough of that on classic systems to keep me busy for the rest of my life.  As a result, continuing to pursue modern gaming has begun to feel unimportant to me and I've become content just playing my Atari and Genesis.  That doesn't mean I blindly think Shaq Fu is superior to God of War 2.

I simply don't see anyone asking the question you seem to be answering.

Okay, I really don't want a war to start in my thread so let me just leap in here for a minute. This is how these things start. As an unattached observer, AF and LA, you guys are on the exact same side of the fence, what you both are saying totally agrees with the other, but as always (with guys especially) , you feel like you have to keep "defending" your "view" even if it makes no sense to (and before you dislike ME, I've been guilty of this too, I'm an Alien but a GUY Alien, that's how I know!). OBVIOUSLY I'm not saying do you prefer crap games to good ones! I play old systems the most but stuff like 7800 JINKS and 2600 FIREFLY forever collect dust (I bought them cause I COLLECT, as well.)

So, to redefine my statement, what I meant was this: What GAME SYSTEMS (not counting portables, I play my DS a lot) do you POWER UP most frequently, old (atari 2600,Nes, Genesis, Psone....) or new (PS2, Xbox, GC, Wii,360,PS3)? Or which One(s) if you own more than one.Simple, da? Da!
