[QUOTE=Leo Ames]Your post doesn't make much sense Atarifever. I'm just saying I'm not going to go crazy about something that is average at best like Missing in Action for the Atari 7800 because I'm restricting myself to classic systems and I'm eager to play something new for them even if it sucks.

I'm not that kind of gamer, I like to have fun. Be it a modern game or a classic game, if its a good game I'll play it.

And what I was saying was that no one anywhere implied that that was the question at hand.  The question isn't "will you blindly play any old game, just because it's old".  Alienblue simply asked which, if either, you play more or generally prefer.  No one is asking if you would choose Missing in Action at the expense of enjoying Halo 3.  For example, I said D and leaning toward E because I generally prefer to play pick-up and play games, and there is more than enough of that on classic systems to keep me busy for the rest of my life.  As a result, continuing to pursue modern gaming has begun to feel unimportant to me and I've become content just playing my Atari and Genesis.  That doesn't mean I blindly think Shaq Fu is superior to God of War 2.

I simply don't see anyone asking the question you seem to be answering.

I'm sure we could all raise the funds to put up for a classy hotel room in a land mutually distant from your respective friends and family if you two would use the time to work out this tension together

Overall, I guess I'm a C, though I've been more of a B lately.

D.  Now that I'm an adult I can go after the games that I and my parents couldn't afford when they were new, and I'm discovering a whole lot of good old stuff that no one I knew had.  I now also have, in my bedroom, most of the arcade games I loved to play at the SpacePort, but I can also enjoy in new games the kind of immersive realism that was inconceivable back in the day.  There's never been a better time to enjoy video games than right now!

Is there going to be room service?

Af, I'm glad you have a sense of humor. Hope LA does. As a great place to resolve differences between individuals or nations I suggest sending the leaders to SEDNA, only 10,500 billion miles away (beyond the orbit of pluto and further than Xena! Although, yes, I know, all guys would like to get on Xena )

I cringe whenever anyone calls this the best of times simply because everything is available, old and new, and old is cheaper. The early days of gaming to me were the best because it was so NEW! You play Donkey Kong now and think it's ok, but it was AMAZING to us in '82! It was like playing a cartoon come to life! The age of Pac/Ms.pac-man, Galaga, Centipede/Millipede, Defender and Asteroids was something that can never be re-experienced again. For kids today it's like imagining people who saw a BIG 4-4-0 Steam train puffing away for the first time, or the people who saw the first men on the moon...today space is commonplace, trains are outdated...the "Wow" factor will never be repeated. And that's the way it was....

I play my DS, NES, Genesis, and Wii the most. The PS2 hasn't been getting much playtime lately.

C. Dpending on mood, I can veer towards B or D though. I have even been an E on occasion, but I like modern games much more now.
