This is why I am always critical of the "wherez da gamez?" argument.
Here is one such example, coming late September of this year:

Could this game be great? Maybe, maybe not. But this is the tip of the ice berg as many small to mid range dev houses are grinding away on Wii games we haven't even heard of.

Why is IGN so obsessed with doing a play by play on the graphics of every game?Oh no, they think the charachters are short a few polygons, as if that could ever hurt a fun game. Toads, they are. Parrots. I am still impressed with GC quality graphics. In fact, I think Mario64 is a great looking game. More so than that, I think the original Star Fox looks wonderful!
Time will prove that this current graphics obssesion was detrimental to the overall quality and fun factor of contempary games. Imagine the sense of wonder if an IGN employee was ever by chance to glance out a window. If their little ferret eyes could adjust to natural light, they may well be blown away.

[QUOTE=Steerforth]We can only hope. I'll take a smattering of lower budget, original games over recycleware anyday.

The Wiimote looks to be a the perfect tool for a simulation game such as Space Station Tycoon. The media and previews are scarce and its leads me to believe that it will be a sub-par game. I am still keeping my fingers crossed though.

I remember the space station one as well. It didn't look like it was quite what I was looking for, but like you say, we have to keep our fingers crossed.

Agreed. When we dust off our Wii's, 360's and PS3's for a nostalgia fix 15 years down the road, the graphics argument will be moot when determining which games truly were the best of their time and which hold up. Today's reviews should be focused less and less on graphics, only spending any considerable time talking about them if they are truly ground breaking (ie Gears, Okami).
