As I have always said regarding both third party support for Wii and the release lists, the popularity of the system has caused a explosion of development, and there are going to be plenty of games that come out for Wii that don't get on the initial release lists.
This is why I am always critical of the "wherez da gamez?" argument.
Here is one such example, coming late September of this year:
http://wii.ign.com/articles/798/798118p1.htmlCould this game be great? Maybe, maybe not. But this is the tip of the ice berg as many small to mid range dev houses are grinding away on Wii games we haven't even heard of.

We can only hope. I'll take a smattering of lower budget, original games over recycleware anyday.
Why is IGN so obsessed with doing a play by play on the graphics of every game?Oh no, they think the charachters are short a few polygons, as if that could ever hurt a fun game. Toads, they are. Parrots. I am still impressed with GC quality graphics. In fact, I think Mario64 is a great looking game. More so than that, I think the original Star Fox looks wonderful!
Time will prove that this current graphics obssesion was detrimental to the overall quality and fun factor of contempary games. Imagine the sense of wonder if an IGN employee was ever by chance to glance out a window. If their little ferret eyes could adjust to natural light, they may well be blown away.

This game sounds great! These are the type of games that really get me to love a system. Normally the PS2 was the place you could find hidden stuff like this. I'm glad that smaller companies are starting to get in on the Wii action. Hopefully it will help round out the library of titles.
If this gets a passable grade I will be all over it.

Yes, I agree. Matt and Bozon almost always go on and on about graphics in all the reviews and previews to the point of annoyance. I call it "Wii overcompensation syndrome," since they no doubt catch crap from the freakin' small army of people IGN has to cover all things Sony. Its like they always have to defend the Wii's ability to produce great graphics.

Another small game that is getting zero attention is Space Station Tycoon. Back in the day I used to play all the tycoon simulator games...Theme Park, Theme Hospital, Sim Tower, Sim City, Roller Coaster Tycoon. If well done this games can literally suck away your life. Sadly this genre has never been done all that well on consoles.
The Wiimote looks to be a the perfect tool for a simulation game such as Space Station Tycoon. The media and previews are scarce and its leads me to believe that it will be a sub-par game. I am still keeping my fingers crossed though.

I remember the space station one as well. It didn't look like it was quite what I was looking for, but like you say, we have to keep our fingers crossed.

Agreed. When we dust off our Wii's, 360's and PS3's for a nostalgia fix 15 years down the road, the graphics argument will be moot when determining which games truly were the best of their time and which hold up. Today's reviews should be focused less and less on graphics, only spending any considerable time talking about them if they are truly ground breaking (ie Gears, Okami).
