The N64 Controller's Left Position

I was going to write that post two days ago about how I hold it but then quit writing the post because I knew I would probably confuse people. I thought I could write it clearly but obviously not. Essentially I don't grip the middle of the controller like they tell you too but grip each side of the controller and can reach any button at any given time. People often comment how weird I hold the controller but it makes the most sense for me.

Ah, I see. That's the middle position, though. The left position is holding the left and middle parts, giving access to the D-pad and the control stick, something that's useable in, as far as people remember, a single minigame in a single game. Yeah.

I hold it the same way Andrew, was afraid to mention it since it isn't the correct way to hold it, but I never knew better and it was more comfortable for me.

Wow. I didn't even know the positions had names.
No matter what game I'm playing, I always use the Home position.
