What is the point in the Wii's SD card anyway?!
Well, let's see here..
You mentioned Excitetruck. Motorstorm easily blows that right out of the water. And as far as the control goes.. all you really need is an arcade-type steering wheel.
Then you mentioned Actraiser. How about Ninja Gaiden Sigma or Tenchu Z?
Miltary Madness I'm not familiar with, but I'm guessing Resistance or Gears Of War would do the trick and keep you busy for awhile.
And Paper Mario? Hmm.. I dunno, the new Sonic?

Well, they determine where third-party games go. And good third party games are an important part of a great system. So yeah, indirectly they do.

Okay that's it! I was really thinking about going easy on you, what with everyone else attacking you. But come on! Are you really idiotic enough to believe that Sonic the Hedgehog for the 360 and PS3 can blow Super Paper Mario out of the water?! Are you insane?! Super Paper Mario has a score of 86 on Metacritic. Sonic, however, has a score of 46 on the 360 and a score of 43 on the PS3 respectively. Boy, based on scores like that I really wanna get a crappy/glitchy platformer over a deep and nostalgic RPG/platformer hybrid!
I apologize if this was just a tad ranty. Just a tad.

2. Yeah, Ninja Gaiden Sigma was awesome... when it was Ninja Gaiden Black on Xbox, which was also great... when it was the original Xbox Ninja Gaiden. Sorry if I'm not getting too terribly excited about that title. And unlike Resident Evil 4 Wii, Sigma isn't $30.... you are paying full price for a re-release that doesn't even have as many extra features as RE4 does. Ummmm..... I think that's p0wnage....
3. Like all the mindless Wii critics, you totally minimize the strong Wii library (because I doubt you are familiar with it). I bet you are one of those guys that just skims Metacritic and looks at the scores as complete irrefutable fact (because professional critics never, ever get it wrong!
). Was there as many good, fun games available for the 360 in the first 8 months of the systems life? That's highly debateable. I owned the system back then. I seem to only remember Fight Night, Ghost Recon, and Oblivion as being the only solid offerings back in those days. But I'm not going to say that the 360 had a weak opening lineup, because there are plenty of games available then that weren't really suited to my tastes.
This is another thing the mindless anti-Wii robots do. They look at a library that may not have a ton of games that hit their specific sweet spot (no system can do that after only being out 6-8 months!), and therefore it is a terrible library. I call bullocks on that.
I know you feel compelled to rain on everybody's parade and take a "Wii" on the "Wii." I'm guessing you probably paid big money for a huge 1080i plasma, and spent another $1000 bucks for a 360 and PS3 to take advantage of it. At least, I HOPE that's why you are bringing these lame arguments to the table. It's the only reasonable excuse I can come up with.

Actually, I think it's a case of Wish-it-wus-difernitis, and it is to be pittied. I see a lot of ranters on Gamespot who have the same condition. They try to find every excuse they can for calling it a failure despite having successful sales and a bevy of fun games -- everything from calling it a fad to calling it an impulse buy to trashing every game out for the system that they can imagine. At first I fought these people, but now I recognize it for the disease it is.
You see, these people are in pain. They were so sure the Wii would fail, and that either the PS3 would become almost immediately the best seller, or that the 360's 12-month head start would give Microsoft an overwhelming edge, and that surety built up five years of anticipation. Finding out that the Wii is dominating the sales charts, and that companies like Microsoft are now talking about going in the direction that Nintendo has to get some of that succes -- well, it's just too much for them to take.
We should be more understanding of mental illnesses like this one. Sometimes the devastation of "not being right" is just more than these personality types can handle. We should realize that they are in great confusion and tremendous pain, that this has fueled their delusions, and well ... pity them.

What is the point in the Wii's SD card anyway?!
Well, this is one of the more annoying strings I have read in a long time. A while back, I posted that it was strings like this that made me not want to post. When are people going to realize that all three systems have something for everyone? As I previously stated - not that anyone will remember - I have an Xbox 360 from this generations launch and I love it. It has the games I like and while graphics are important, it is not THAT important. As far as I know, the 360 is the only console that has RTS games like Command and Conquer and Battle for Middle Earth (I am not sure if PS3 has them yet).
I do give a TON of credit to the Wii (Nintendo) for tapping into a new market and making games fun again. However, just in making that statement, it does not mean that I feel the games are fun. They do nothing for me. And yes, unlike my last post when I had never tried it, I have tried it since (although only at the store kiosks).
I would like to state one thing though that will probably generate a few negative comments but I will take the chance. I do notice that there are a lot of Wii-haters here and I think that is a shame. I am NOT one of them - I just don't want a Wii. However, I have noticed that there are certain Wii-lovers who feel they have to slam the 360 and PS3 in defense of their system. I read this string initially because I was curious to the answer even though I don't have a Wii. After some interesting well-put answers (Funkmaster, etc) I would have thought the string would have died or at least slowed down. Then Luke posted and the war started - on both sides. What a letdown. I'll be an adult and apologize in advance to anyone I offended.
