[QUOTE=Steerforth]Wii Sports - I hope it becomes a very influential game because it is the poster child of having a very focused vision of a game, keeping things simple and refined until they are perfect. Everything in this game works great, the physics are true, the games are fun, the controls work great. The best multiplayer game by far, I think ever. Too many games try and fail to do too much, Wii Sports rose way above that. This game got decent reviews at launch, but will grow bigger and bigger until people realize it is a 10 in a few years. Also introduced Miis, which have made every game I have played them with more fun. Baseball especially, because it is a kick to see which of your random creations will show up for a pickup game of baseball.

Steerforth, have we played the same Wii Sports game? I found the tennis to get old about 10 minutes after I first experienced the thrill of swinging the controller like a tennis racket. The baseball game has absolutely nothing going on (no fielding, no controlling of runners) beyond simulating a throw and bat swing with the controller. 8 out of 10 hits hit goes foul. The boxing game was incredibly laggy and controlled horribly (maybe one punch thrown in the game for every 4 I actually threw). The bowling game was also difficult to get the hang of using the controllers. To me, Wii Sports is a case of demos created on the quick just to show off what could be possible with motion-control gamesticks, but once you get beyond the 'neat!' factor of having your real-life movements converted into action on the screen there is nothing to any of those games. Admittedly I never played the golf game so that might rise above the level of the rest, but I just haven't understood why so many people are oooh-ing and aaah-ing over Wii Sports.
