I dunno. I agree that Wii Sports is not deep at all, but it also is alot of fun. Maybe you just suck at it.

Oh there's no 'maybe' about it - I DO suck at it.  That doesn't change the fact that the only thing you control in the tennis game is the racket swing, or that it has a baseball game that only doesn't allow you any control over the defense or runners.  That's not simplified gameplay, that puddle-size-shallow.  At least I know I'm not alone in these observations as evidenced here:

Very funny riposte, Funk.

There are always gonna be people who don't get Wii Sports. To me, its a classic, a game that, like Galaga or Street Fighter II, will always be fun.

I don't play it everyday. But you know what, every now and then, when I'm in the gaming doldrums, I'll fire it up, and it never fails to be a good time.

Sometimes a game is more than the sum of its parts.

I don't play golf, I don't watch golf, I don't care about golf.

But Wii golf is an awesome game, the best of the bunch. Once you get the hang of it, it is very exact. I play sitting on my butt, and I just use wrist motions. Here I am bragging about my skills in a voideo game, but man can I chip and putt, if I do say so myself! Only gripe is it has only 9 holes, but on replaying Mario Golf GC I sold it, because I didn't like the GC controls anymore. I LOVE this game.

Baseball is very good, of course they made it simple, a lot more fun with 2 people. Its just so fun to throw off peoples timing when batting. Also play with 6 (or more) people, 3 on a team, pass the wimote around to bat and on the other side each pitch an inning, have a starter, middle reliever, and closer. Very fun. YOu might even try drinking some beer while doing so!

Tennis is good single player, its pretty good multiplayer too. Tennis is tennis.

I think bowling is great, it always moves fast and people pick it up real fast. I can hit 250's on a real good game, usualy about 200, which is twice as good as when I bowl in real life every 5 years or so! I've gotten 8 strikes in a row, but over two games, I think I'll get a hole in one before I get a perfect game in bowling. You have to be consistent, I spin it a lot( yuo knoiw the pocket), so you have to keep that the same, release at the same point at the same point etc.

Boxing is a mixed bag, I don't think it is broken, but it is damn hard, especially the computer when you get to 700 or so. Last weekend my brother k'od my other unbeatenbrother in a first round firsyt time knockout, Willie Nelson vs W. Bush, so that was quite amusing.

Finally the practice mode is the best of any game I have played and adds a lot of replay, it is real competitive. Very creative and challenging minigames.

Never play training mode.

People gave this good scores, but they marked it down because it is not the game they would have made. You can't do a lot in this game, but everything you do do rings true, you never feel like a pin fell that shouldn't have, or a golf bowl bounced wrong, or whatever. Easily the best wii game out there, I still play it regular and it is a perfect pack in. The last game I got excited about before this one just from commercials was Orcarina of Time, and they both lived up to expectations. Like I said, it will grow on people.
