I was just curious. Not to be a troll, I just don't feel a company like Sony, who uses their games systems to push bluray and high def, wether you want it or not, and MS, who can't make a profit in 6 years but they are just so big than can continue to absorb losses, are in the same class as the older companies who just focus on making GAMES! More and more I think gaming is getting sold down the river, and these kids who started on Playstation really have no idea what gaming can be. I know this sounds pathetic, I am getting to old, I am not relevant!
I know SEGA ain't what they once were, but I think they can fix themselves by getting back to their roots and focus on arcade style games. Shadow the Hedgehog was a very sad attempt to mirrow what everyone else was doing, and that is too bad. They need to get their personality back, and stick to their guns.

[QUOTE=Steerforth] As you know, I am a Nintendo nerd. I was thinking how much it would sucked if Nintendo would have eventually been squeezed out of the market by Sony and Microsoft like many were predicting not long ago. That would be enough to have me quit gaming, but I know there are many SEGA partisans on this site, who did not quit but had to turn to other platforms. If you are one of these, where have you turned and why?

Um... I liked Shadow. It was actually a really neat game. I hate the other 3D Sonics though. Except I kinda liked Riders.

I turned to the Gamecube. It was a sweet system, with a lot of fun, blue sky having, arcade type games.

[QUOTE=Superjay]As a huge Sega fan previously I was completely hurt by Sega quiting on the Dreamcast. I felt like my loyalty had been crushed. I hated Playstation because I felt they had killed the dreamcast. I would argue with gamespot employees every week because they would always encourage new customers to "wait for a ps2" instead of buying a Dreamcast. It seemed like this was happening everywhere in Queens and Manhattan. So when the Dreamcast died I felt Sony was partcialy responsible. I was never a huge nintendo fan. I always thought they never had that Sega attitude. I felt they had a more kiddie image. Even though Sega had kiddie games also their lead character Sonic had this serious confidence about him. I would read the Next gen magazine and they would talk about a project they had called xbox. The more I read about it the more I was liking it. When I played a demo unit in a store with the original halo /w a friend that sealed it. I needed that system. I always thought that Sega would make awesome games after this because they no longer would need to worry about there own hardware losses and they could concentrate on great gaming. I was wrong. It seems like every game they make now is worse than the game before it. I never been so let down by a company ever. The only problems I've had with Microsoft is the fact that their consoles seem to not have QC. Lateley I've been liking all systems and companies because they all have there good games.

I'm so worried about mine. I've spent nearly as much time using it as a DVD player as I have a game console. I love my 360.

As a huge Sega fan, I know what its like to be burnt bad by the company you support. However, I see a potential in Sony that leads me to believe that they are the future in home consoles (or at least being the main competition to Nintendo).
I own a Wii and A PS3. For me turning to a company such as microsoft to replace my sega cravings doesn't sit well.
Plus it's almost silly talking about the hardware so much as for the most part, software is what drives the hardware, without quality software the hardware will fail.
