My PC is future-proof... I can buy upgrades for around $60.00-$100.00... It won't cost as much as another console... Imagine after the PS3 there will be "figuratively speaking" the PS4 price at $1000.00, and the Wii 2 priced at $500.00.
I do have an Atari 2600 & an Atari 7800 which I purchased about a week ago. Cheap at $50.00 for the 2600 and $75.00 for the 7800... They aren't much different but there games pretty much own the next-gen games console games.
All the new consoles are just degraded versions of the PC... With all the added kinks... Blu-Ray, DVD, and otheres... Wow the console really is starting to look like a PC now isn't it?

I apologize. That is 100% correct in everyway. You are a great person with incredible opinions.
I don't have anything against RTS games, but I don't think consoles will be bowing to PCs anytime soon, as the current PC market is so thin. If it ever goes back to where it was with the C64, Speccy, and Atari systems I'd be all over it.

Please don't forget about the indie game scene when we have these PC game discussions. Like indie music, yeah, there is going to be some junk here. But there is also a lot to love about it.
To me, that is the number one reason to take PC gaming seriously: you are going to see cutting edge stuff on that platform before anything else, or genres that are still fun but have been left in the dust by the mainstream industry.

Indeed. I can't wait to see the next game about gay cowboys eating pudding.

It's an old joke on South Park -- when the indie films festival moves to South Park, the kids joke that all the movies are about gay cowboys eating pudding.
Then it shows a scene in the theater as Stan watches with these two cowboys on a mountain top, and one of them says "Would you like another puddin?"
Jeuvenile joke yeah, but hilarious at the time, and though it was meant for indie films, I can't help but associate it with anything called "indie"
You can read the dialogue here: http://www.geocities.com/d300g/southpark209.html

Maybe there will be a game based on Brokeback Mountain coming out soon for the PS3... Sony probably sees the gay community as a huge profit. Don't you think?
Who blames them?
