You know the Wii system is going to crash... All the thrive off of is new variations of controllers... It is basically turning into some home arcade system... =( I'd rather stick to the old arcades... Nothing like going to the arcade with your buds and having a blast with MK. Yes, Wii is fun, but it just doesn't have the power to play any high-graphic games. It will be cool if Microsoft & Nintendo teamed up into making a high powered console with all sorts of funky controllers. It will be fun playing GoW with all sorts of custom Wii controllers. Then again, what is never going to happen.

Mephisto has already proved himself a general troll. No one is worried by what he thinks.

I'm excited about the pad, Rob, especially since I did not expect it. I want to know what it can all do in the first place, what it will cost, and how many games they will build for it. Nintendo has always been a peripheal (sp?) heavy company, its just that so many have been somewhat lackluster and more or less failed in the past. But this pad looks really special, the zapper is fine and we need more details on the Wii wheel too.

I think it is fun, really they are morphing into an interactive toy company, you certainly can't fault them for lack of vision. I think Wii Fit will  outsell Halo, what do you think of that?

Outsell Halo? Hmm. That's bold, but I don't think I'd go that far. But I do think it'll be a million seller, though, especially if more games are developed to go with it.

I think they are trying to change video game culture, and I largely agree with it. Honestly, I would have laughed at the Wii when I was in college. Totally different perspective. But now that I'm more a family oriented guy now, I appreciate what the Wii has to offer. And I don't really mean content- there are certainly plenty of Xbox 360 titles that are rated teen or below, but I mean an overall accessability for videogames: the ability for that activity to be something enjoyed by everyone, not just fans.

Despite the fears of some, this will be good for even the so called hardcore. Once you enlarge that install base, you can create deeper experiences later to placate newly converted fans.

That's like when they said Killzone was going to be a Halo Killer.

Killzone and Halo are the same kind of game. This is something different. But this is a game people will go nuts over, it has that Wii sports, see you on the news, appeal. I don't know when it will release, but I' ll try and keep track and see where they are a year or two after their  realeses. And if I'm wrong I'll just pretend I meant in Japan.

I call phenom!

Steerforth... Saying Wii Fit will outsell Halo is Sony saying the PS3 far surpasses the 360.

Just fer the record.....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best_selling_video_games

Xbox

Halo: Combat Evolved (5 million)[2]
  • Halo 2 (8 million)[1]

  • 360

  • Gears of War (3.7 million)[7]

  • Nintendo DS

  • Nintendogs (13.6 million)[39]
  • Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day! (8.51 million)[52]

  • Is it so crazy, considering 360's user base is about half the size of the original 'Box had when Halo 2 hit the streets? Also the Wii user base will pass 360's real soon, provided things go as their going.

Don't tell me you would have predicted 8.51 million sales for Brainage the first time you saw it. Hah!

I would love to have the game budget figures and expenses as well. Quite a contrast, I would guess.

  • Yes, I would have.  It was already a mega-hit in Japan by the time I heard the name for the first time -- consistently selling out most other software week after week.

Those "training" games are going like nuts there.

While it may not outsell Halo 3, I think it will do very, very well. Sorry "hardcore" gamers: the paradigm has been changed.

Thats not fair Rob - I'm asuming major graphics bias and general game ignorance here. Pretend you hadn't heard about it in Japan first and pretend to look at some screens for the first time! Hey - I'll work with you!
