Now I'm starting to pity Sony
Hey, come on guys, Sony makes a GREAT game machine! It runs Half-Life 2 and Far Cry high settings, has a huge library of PS1, NES, SNES, N64, and Saturn games that can be downloaded and run flawlessly, it takes an Xbox 360 controller, it's portable... that is, it's my Vaio laptop.

[QUOTE=The Video Game Critic]When Sony's best exclusive is Rachet and Clank 4, it's time to worry! Looks like it's almost time to worry!

Actually, I'd say that even if Metal Gear Solid 4, GTA IV, and Devil May Cry 4 were still in the running Ratchet and Clank 4 still could have been the best exclusive for the PS3. You really should play the second and third game in the series Critic. Then you could see how great they really are.

[QUOTE=Superjay] and all the Final Fantasy games.

Well, there is a four player online Crystal Chronicals on the current king of Japan, the DS. As well, the prime minister of Japan (the Wii) is getting swords. As well, Sony already got the pimp slap of having Dragon Quest go to the DS. There isn't much time left for Sony having all the Final Fantasy games at all. Mark my words, the next Final Fantasy this generation (after X3 or whatever they're at now) will be on the Wii or DS.

Well, Tools of Destruction is technically Ratchet and Clank 5 (Deadlocked was, for the most part 4), but that's beside the point.
I'm not a Sony fan either (especially after this price drop bait and switch), but I think Sony has a couple of impressive exclusives that I want to play(albeit not as many as 360), like Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Little Big Planet, SOCOM: Confrontation, Heavenly Sword (a game I gained more respect and excitement for after seeing it being played in real-time), Infamous (the newest by Sly Cooper developer Sucker Punch), Echochrome, and of course, Ratchet and Clank.
I guess the question, though, is whether they'll be strong enough to help Sony stay afloat. We'll see...

And Mikami said he'd cut his own head off with a chainsaw if RE4 was released for a non-GC console a couple months before the PS2 port was announced.

The key point being is that having a choice between the three platforms keeps the licensing fees lower. If just MS and Nintendo remain then you'll see licensing fees raise at least for MS. Nintendo's licensing fees are already higher than Sony and MS. So, it's in both Konami's and Square's interest to keep a couple of exclusives on the PS3. Yes, short term wise they'll certainly not make as much money if they were multi-platform; however, the rest of the library sales should in theory offset the increased licensing fees.
At least without seeing the actual numbers and the ROI that's my hunch and I'm pretty good at seeing the dollar side of things being a business analyst.
