Time for a new #3?

Uh, guys, take EA out of the equation. They did that once before under the name 3DO. Of course, no one made money off the software so they had to increase the hardware costs to something in the PS3 realm if not more.
When there's money to be made there'll always be a new player eventually. As it is I kind of like having an oligoply between Sony, MS, and Nintendo. Any more and I wouldn't be interested. Seriously, there are three major players all with three staggering different price amounts for gaining entry.
Sadly, Sega's gone. Until they release an updated version of Panzer Dragoon Saga, Sega's dead to me.

no more sega, i wouldnt be able to take the heartbreak again.
plus, theyve lost thier soul since the death of the dreamcast.

Besides, I thought the topic was "a new #3." Sega's already had their time, they screwed it up, so why would we even want that again? The DC was a great system that Sega quickly abandoned, like almost everything else they put out post-genesis. It's their own fault that they're merely a software developer now and, most times, they even screw that up! Don't get me wrong, I like Sega and all, but if there's going to be "a new #3," let it be somebody who hasn't had a chance to screw it up!

I highly doubt Sega would ever make a console again, and EA is making plenty of money off games alone. I bet they would make less money on a console than they do with Madden alone. Also, a Sega and EA partnership is even less likely, since EA didn't support the Dreamcast. I know this is all just fun speculation, but I'm just saying. I think the most likely candidate to make a system is Apple, since they seem to want to do everything.

I really doubt Apple would. I think the PS2 will keep going and going, though. Well, that is your new #3, just look at the charts!
The number one selling console worldwide is a little brick with 2 - 32 bit processors. And Atrarifever is still a surly old cuss!
But just you wait, the graphics on my Wii are set to expire around Christmastime, and the whole pyramid will flip on over, I promise!
