That is the big rumor hitting the industry today. Supposed the GTAIV tattoo loving exec will be leaving Microsoft to head up EA Sports.
Not really sure if this is true or if it will even effect Microsoft...I'm sure more news will be popping up rather rapidly as the day goes on.

If true, this is probably a good move for Moore. He always seemed a little ill-suited to the job, IMO. I don't think he always handled the media well; his irritation of the Xbox 360 backwards compatibility issues really bubbled over in Game Informer.
Plus, I'm not sure heading up the ol' Xbox program is a great job. Microsoft has yet to convince me that it can effectively market anything that doesn't have a captive audience. Moore can make a bigger impact on EA's sports games.
All in all though, not surprising. American execs change jobs like underwear, regardless of job performance.

We'll that rumor didn't take long to confirm. Moore has resigned and will be leaving Microsoft in August. I highly doubt this will have any real impact on Microsoft since most of these execs are merely puppets that act upon their masters will...

Indeed. Of all the major CEOs in the biz Moore seemed to have the weakest actual influence. It is hard to envision the "Peter Moore Vision," while it is not hard to do so for Phil Harrison, Reggie Fils-Aime, and Iwata/Miyamoto.

Reggie is a salesman, maybe he will be a good pres, I have no clue. He can the sell the vision, but NOA ain't nothing next to the brain trust in Japan.
Also, Moore was the top guy in the game division? I always thought he was just their PR guy. Would his neck have been on the line with the 360 issues? Maybe that played a part, get out before you are pushed out?

I know it is commonly regarded that NOA is merely a puppet arm of NOJ. But give Reggie some credit. He sent fanboy shockwaves when he made his famous "I'm here to kick BLEEP and make games" statement, and has been a powerful presence for the company in America.
