I gotta love the ridiculous rationalizations that Wii haters use.

Normally I would write a lengthy reasoning to explain why it is a good library for a young system, but let me use something more on the level of the haters.

IT IS A GOOD LIBRARY OF GAMES, PERIOD.

Remove the ports, games marketed to non-gamers, and sequels that won't be as good as the orignals, and what do you get? - jcserver

Okay, I want you to remove the sequels from the PS3 lineup, then the action games, then the RPGs, and then think for a second. Do you now understand how stupid your post was?

I hope this doesn't turn into a hate thread...keep it clean!-
I HAVE THE POWER! (Blue aura glows as cat cowers)

I really wanted to respond to whoever said The Colcovision, Atari 2600 and Intellivision were DEAD by the time NES came out. nope nope and nope. I recall that year well. Telegames had just released a version of the CV, INTELLIVISION, INC. now marketed the Intellivision and Atari introduced the 2600 junior! Of course, the first two would be dead within a year, the last in two years, but AT THE TIME they were still very much alive (just on heavy life-support!)

I just have a strong personal disliking for Nintendo after their last two consoles (N64 and Gamecube) stunk so bad.

I think the Wii is a decent system. It's just not for me.

I personally think the Gamecube is the best Nintendo system of all time.  Throw on a GBA player and the compilations and you have a good chunk of the best 8 bit and 16 bit games anyway, plus a huge awesome 2D library.  Add in incredible gems like Pikmin 1 & 2, SSBM, Donkey Kongas 1 & 2, Zelda: WW and TP, Mario Cart: DD, RE 4, Soul Calibur 2, etc and you destroy the much smaller library of any previous Nintendo system.  I agree on the N64.

I get so frustrated by people that say the Gamecube sucked! No, it didn't have the 5,000 game library that the ps2 had but it had more than enough games to keep me happy for the five years that I played it. Usually, when somebody I know says the GC sucks, I ask them why and they tell me "there were no games...." funny thing is, they can't even name any games for the thing because they're caught in some stupid dimension where only GTA, Halo, Warcraft, and games of that ilk exist! I think GC is Nintendo's third best system, behind the snes and nes. Oh well, at least it's not like saying the snes sucked.....Only then would I be irate!!

The only beef I have with the GameCube is the controller.  It seems at if Nintendo was aiming to "keep it simple" with the big A and small B buttons, but by the time they added enough buttons to support a game like Madden, it was a mess.

I never got used to the X/Y configuration, and the C stick is lousy.  And what's the deal with that awkwardly placed Z button?  Looks more like an afterthought.

Yeah, that's what I always thought. I think that controller was the result of pained compromise instead of bold decision making, like with the Wii and DS.

Not to mention it has the most unresponsive, tiny, and utterly worthless D-pad known to man.  Try playing Capcom vs. SNK 2 with it, and quickly realize why it's the only 2D fighter on the 'Cube.
