Hey. Whatever, man!

If you guys are going to act like a bunch of elitists then I just won't post here anymore. I just thought it would be FUN to talk about retro games with y'all cause I enjoy reading the Critic's reviews. I wasn't aware that there was a certain "standard" for posting. My bad.
Well I think you are missing the point, but maybe that's just unavoidable at this stage.  I wasn't suggesting that your thread was boring, or that it was off-topic, or any of the rest of it.  Dave made that decision, and as the owner of the site, it's none of my business really.  My point was just that your use of the term "public" in reference to this site implied some kind of right, when just like any private property, we operate within it in a privilege structure only -- at the pleasure of the owner.  That's not to say that I agree with every decision I see at some of these sites, in fact I disagree with a lot of them, but at the end of the day it's just a gaming web site, and it wouldn't be much different if someone invited me to their house for dinner.  I wouldn't just get carte blanche even as an honored guest to run my mouth about just anything.

Critic, you should clarify stuff like this in a "Rules" post that people can view before they post.

I think this is a good idea, for both the posters and the moderators.

I too sometimes wish this was a more "free" forum, but if we want to talk about just ANYthing, there is a little thing calledE-mail for that.

Like Mozart I don't always agree with the critic, but as Mozart said it is HIS site. And in this case I can kinda see hs point. Yes the message was video-game related but If I posted:

I really like 7800 Joust!

..that's not a thread. That's a SENTANCE. If it attracted ANY comment, it would just be jokes. But I can kinda see both sides here, I don't think Luke was so upset it WAS deletd, but that he didn't know WHY. As to the inquires above, about rules, we are aware of no profanity/adult content but if you delete for some different reason, maybe you should let the first one through and say "Ok, no more posts like THIS!" Then we'd know WHY at least.

Alienblue,

I didn't just say that I bought a Dreamcast and that was it. What my exact posting said was that "I finally bought a Dreamcast, and I also got a Gameshark CDX to go with it so I can also play all the great imported games." But nope, that wasn't cool enough for the Critic. Because he's got everything. He just basically rolls his eyes and says "So what?" before deleting. Again, that's elitism.

By the way, what's a SENTANCE?

Did you mean Sentence??

Nobody really cares if somebody on this board bought a system or a game.  The purpose of the board is to share opinions and ideas.  Had you tacked on some questions or interesting observations, I probably would have let it go.

I do agree that I should post some helpful guidelines however.

Yeah. I see how it is with you.

So what about the "Just Purchased an Xbox 360" and the "Flea Markets Rule!" threads, Critic?

I thought nobody cared if people just bought a system or a bunch of games???

Luke: first of all on mi planet we usee the vord SENTANCE!

Luke: Second of all , PLEEEEEASE just withold your personal feelings and don't pursue this. I speakese froms expeiances.

I see two valid points here. But they have been MADE. Hey, I think you got a lot longer thread than usual. Now, you can feel free to Email me and continue this , if you want to talk it out, ok? Don't frustrate or anger he who is in charge, The VGC has enough stress with all his games and such.

Just wait a bit and make a new, longer thread. We all like to brag about our consoles / games we get, but insert some query (What are the best games? Any Dreamcast sites?) or talk about your experiances with the DC. Good luke..er, luck and PEACE.
