Adventure Games, Past and Present.

I love adventure games, especially the old Sierra games. If you ever mess with shareware, I recommend Space Quest I and Goldrush.

Also at homestarrunner.com they have the best flash game I've ever played, Peasants Quest, on their games page, great little tribute/parody of Sierra style games.

If anyone has played any good adventure games on DS, please post, I had Trace Memory, and it was o.k., maybe geared for a younger audience.

Also here is a link to an upcoming Capcom adventure game for Wii. I may have to check this one out! :

I never thought those old point and click adventure games were that interesting; however, with today's budgets and game engines, I think they could be very interesting now, e.g. Shenmue.

Anyone play it?  I never finished it, but it's probably the most detailed game I've ever played.

Get the Phoenix Wright games and Hotel Dusk. All awesometastic games.

Should be noted, though, that like "Trace Memory", they ARE very straight forward, and it's pretty much impossible to get completely stuck. They're still good, though., but don't expect much in the way of challenge.

Heres a DS game that looks like it has a lot of potential.....

Undercover Dual Motives. You control 2 spys to solve puzzles by switching back and forth. One thing I like about adventure games is prerendered backgrounds, you get some beautiful art and detail that true 3-d graphics can't match. This game looks very pretty on the DS. If I pick it up, I'll post some impressions. This is a game my DS has been waiting for.

I love the Phoenix Wright games, because they strip out some of the more frustrating aspects of the Adventure Game genre. Hotel Dusk is a very good game also, with really interesting art design and a cool, jazz influenced musical score.
