Ok, lets try this another way. I tried before to count the ratio of good to bad games on a system, but I'm awful with math and it doesn't make sense cross-system wise anyway. What I was TRYING to figure was, of all the systems, which gave you the most "bang for the buck"? That is which systems did/do you play the most? (Atarifever: we know, 7800! )....not counting portables. If we counted portables, for me the Gameboy line would win by a landslide. For consoles the top five for me are:

1. Atari 2600
2. NES
3. GENESIS
4. Colecovision
5. Atari 7800
That's over a colecting/playing games period of two and a half decades! Other results may vary. Which systems gave you the most play value for the dollar, do you think? If you own mutliple new ones, which is ahead and by how much? Again, no fair counting portables or computers (the C64 and MAME would be REALLLLLLY High for me If i did!)

Overall I would say...

1. Xbox (great exclusives, best versions of multiplatform games, can get my retro on with compilation discs, games are really cheap these days, best non-motion controller EVER)

2. Genesis (games are cheap and fun, nostalgia factor)

3. SNES (nostalgia factor, great games)

4. PS2 (wide selection of games, backwards compatible)

5. Dreamcast (great games, lots of exclusives)

I'm also quite partial to the Neo Geo AES and the Wii, but I don't have enough games for either system to truly get an accurate assessment.

My least favorites:

1. NES (horrible system durability, uncomfortable controllers, games hard to clean/maintain, game severely outdated/done better on other systems)

2. Sega 32x (an absolute beast with few, if any, worthwhile games)

3. Sega CD (see Sega 32x)

4. 3DO (not enough games, bad controller)

5. N64 (see 3DO)
