What's good on the N64?
Realizing that I could get a Nintendo 64 and Goldeneye for cheap, I ran out yesterday and bought the game and system. The good news is that Goldeneye is just as good as I had remembered it was. The bad news is, after perusing the critic's N64 section, I don't really see a lot of other games I can get excited about. I already have Super Mario 64 on the VC and am also interested in the other Nintendo franchises, but beyond that I don't see a lot.
Are there any hidden gems out there that I don't know about? I'm not looking for any particular type of game. I enjoy most genres. Any suggestions?

WCWNWO REVENGE: If you like wrestling games this is the best one, and you can buy it for a buck. It is fun with mulitplayer, on its own not so much
Quest 64 : You will hear much bad on this game, and it ain't no classic, but I enjoyed it back in the day. Don't hate me if it sucks, its been over 10 years!
Blast Corp : This is kind of a cult classic, it has its moments but unfortunately the camera ussualy sucks. But you can drive trains and toot the whistle! It is a very good puzzle game, and pretty darn origional.
Thats about all I can think of for maybe lesser known games. Good luck!

Turok 2 is horrible. Horrible huge levels with tons of fog, probably the worst single player quest ever. Lets face it, after playing something like Halflife (which came out around the same time) there is no way in hell Turok can even be seen as playable. Stay far away from this collusal failure. Unless it has good multiplayer, which I never tried. Turok 3 is a pretty good game, but it has nothing to do with Turok, and is basically a Half Life clone.

lets face it, turok 2 is great and don't compare console to pc games. goto gamerankings 90%, not bad. off to gamespot, one of the top games 1998. Above average single play, amazing multiplay, great graphics. I hated turok 1 and thought turok 2 would be awful and already had a negative bias going in but loved the game immediately. Games gotta be real good to do that.

Starfox: You start on one planet and go on a rampage across the galaxy to take down the guy who invaded the planet you started from. Nice realistic feel to flying, massive bosses, scale is conveyed well, multiple paths, and excellent pacing. Starfox is probably my favorite N64 game.
Ogre Battle: Abstract strategy rpg game. Great pixel art, interesting battle system, complex plot, and a multitude of different endings.
Turok: The first Turok is my favorite in the series. It's kind of a cross between Mario 64, Resident Evil, and Doom. The second one has a decent multiplayer. You can play as several humans or a raptor; it has a few different objectives (my favorite is tag. One person is a monkey. Whoever kills him can become a monkey. The man to be the monkey the most wins.); and weapons that are fun to play with. The adventure/quest mode is pretty bland though. There are a few memorable parts, but mostly you wander around labyrinthine, identical, poorly-lit, low-res mazes shooting the occasional raptor/alien/man/robot/roboraptor or whatever random enemy you're fighting that level. What little I played of the third one seemed alright, but I didn't put much time into because of the camera.
Rayman 2: Production values of a Walt Disney animated movie. Tremendous style.

I have to agree with Edward. I bought a N64 a couple years ago and tried to pick up the "best" games. I got this one for $9.99. I felt ripped off by about $9.96. It's one of the ugliest games I've ever seen on any system. This isn't just my hate of that generation talking, I think this one is a low point specifically for that generation. Judged against other titles of the time, this one looks and plays terribly.
