Remember your first time playing a video game? Not the first time you did it! (Perverts!) For me my first time was the sit down version of Star Wars. Wow those vector graphics! I was much to little and stupid to know what I was doing! How about you guys and your first time? (Playing a video game!)

I aqlso remeber getting a Sega Genesis for my birthday, and I spent the whole day playing Sonic, Streets of Rage and Altered Beast.
I also remember playing a hell of alot of Mortal Kombat and Bloodstorm at the local arcade as a kid.

Remember your first time?
My first game I ever had or played was Triple Action (1981) on the Intellivision. I was 4 years old and had a blast playing the tanks game with my father. I didn't even know the name of the game till the VGC reviewed it on 08-18-07 and I began having flashbacks. Thanks Critic.

That was pretty cool. I think the Wii has successfully recaptured some of that novelty for this genertaion of 4 and 5 year olds.

PacMan 2600. I was blown away. After all, I hadn't ever seen any videogame before, let alone the real PacMan. I still get nostalgic when I play it, even if it isn't that great a translation.

I don't remember the first game I ever played. I do remember that my dad (who divorced my Mom when I was five and moved to the States while we stayed behind in El Salvador) sent me a gift for my 8th birthday in January of 1981: an Atari 2600 system with some games (again, don't remember which one's). The cool thing about receiving these as presents was that (a) I didn't know what videogames were (except for "Pong") and (b) I hadn't asked for them. Nothing beats parents handing you a lifetime addiction when you didn't ask for it in the first place!
For three years after that I was the only kid in my third-world block that had a videogame system, which meant kids that normally wouldn't even talk to me suddenly wanted to be my friends and come play with my 2600. That's what I remember most (the suck-ups that dumped me the moment another kid got an Atari 5200 in 1984) more than the gaming themselves, which I'm pretty sure consisted of copious amounts of "Pac-Man," "Kangaroo" and "Combat" gaming sessions.

Oh, games. Well...love IS a game. And I always lost!
Anyway, in 1981 I was still in High School, being beat up by the boys. I hated them and I hated anything they LIKED...Rock music, Sports, VIDEOGAMES! "I'm glad Dave never got into those things" said my mother...famous last words!
I had seen two player pong and TANK in the 70's but never seriously played them.
Absolute first try...my older sister was into them. She put a quarter into an asteroids machine. I had no idea what to do! BANG BANG BANG, game over. Stupid game!
Then mom brought home a COLECO TANK BATTLE game. It was two player but boy was it fun! MOVING AN OBJECT BY MYSELF AROUND A TV screen, I got the same feeling of wonder many got from Super Mario Bros.! ...soon I bought a Coleco tabletop Pac-Man, then Galaxian, and finally I saved enough to get a 2600. That was 1982 and I have owned at least one electronic game ever since, even during my Welfare period I'd rather play my Ms. Pac Man then sell it and eat! I'm a GAME ADDICT, AND I HAVE A PROBLEM! HI DAVE!
