Some of ya'll probably spent tens of thousands of dollars in video games/systems....I'm not a huge gamer, but I have probably spent a little over $1000 over the years.
Anyone ever do an inventory to estimate this?

According to IGN, the worth of my game collection is
$5,450.38. A lot of those games I didn't actually buy though

I either got them as birthday/Christmas presents, or would be passed down to me by my siblings. For the games I've bought myself, I don't know how much that would be. I could probably figure it out, but it would take too much time for me to bother checking.

Probably $1000 - $1500. Most of this cost is buying new n64 games at about $75 each on average. Since those days I've been very stingy on paying for games. I don't think I've bought a new game or any game over $30 dollars since 2002.

I had never thought about it but It has to have been over $10,000 and prolly closer to $15,000. This stuff adds up over time.
I bought all the following new when released.
A Genesis and 20 games .
A SNES and 15 games.
Sega CD and 8 games.
Atari Jaguar and 10 games.
Virtual Boy and 5 games.
Playstation and 40 games.
N64 and 12 games.
2x Dreamcast and 30 games.
Gameboy Advance and 5 games.
Xbox and 20 games.
Gamecube and 6 games.
Nintendo DS and 3 games.
Wii and no games.
360 and 5 games.
Also a used atari 2600 and 40 games.
Im not gonna do the math but clearly it's alot of money.

Cheapskate that I am, I'd say about $1000 sounds right. Not that I'd ever see that if I were to sell all of it--that's probably about what I've spent on what I own (not counting rentals).

Ironically enough, I just did some math last week to estimate how much it all cost (mostly my parents of course) This doesn't include rentals or computer games either.
I came up with the following: 2600 -$600 NES -$1,500 SNES -$1,800 N64 -$300 PS -$100 PS2 -$1,800 PS3 -$800 Game Boy -$400 GBA -$200
It works out to the handsome sum of $7,500! Mind you, I had to share with my brother for most of the early years but still, that's a lot of money.

Same three. It would hurt my non-existent self-worth if I actually added the amount of bucks I've blown on systems and videogames, especially those still shrink-wrapped or that I have only touched a couple of times. And don't get me started on my DVD, HD-DVD and Blu-ray collections!

Over all, I wouldn't be surprised if all the games and systems i owned put together equalled at least 1000, but that's over years of just buying systems and games, not even collecting. My actual collecting hobby started around this time last year, and i would say that it has so far cost me probably just around 250-300, because i can find good deals....and I'm a bit of con-artist because people here don't know shatz about game collecting and i can get a 40 dollar game for 10 : p
