It just occurred to me that I actively avoid setting foot in GameStop nowadays - and I'm the freakin' Video Game Critic!!

Best Buy on the other hand, is very inviting.  Why?  The games are easy to find and they're always NEW and UNOPENED.  Best of all, they sometimes have some nice sales.

No huge fan, but they're pretty much the only place I can buy videogames around Grand Forks. They're a decent source of last-gen games, though.

But really, no Gamestop/EB Games stores sell PSX games in the US? The EB Games stores in Norway always have a decent-sized rack of used, cheap PSX games.

And if a guy gets bent out of shape b/c people are giving him heck b/c he works a terrible job, go back to school--  and thus abandon anyone dependent on you, get a huge crippling student loan that you can't afford because of your life situation, or any of the thousand other really good solid reasons for a person to work in a thankless retail job. Let me tell you two words, you human being entitled to respect based on simply being a member of a sentient species, and all you weirdos defending Gamestop employees and their whines:

Human Decency

Look it up. You are a human being, not a job title.

Fixed it for you.  Or of course you could actually mean to judge people based on your belief of their worth to the system.  You know, like a communist or caste system would do.   What tiny, unimportant, temporary business are you a cog in the machine of Funk, that you're so fit to judge?

Every EB/GameStop I've visited (all in Eastern Canada or Toronto) has an ample supply of new and used PSX games, all at reasonable prices. Heck, at one point the local one had about 10 brand new copies of Final Fantasy 7. They haven't sold Dreamcast or N64 titles for years though.

I would be lead to believe that working between 55 and 60 hours a week to make up for not having hours in my store would be working harder.  Certain customers certainly need to be a little more understanding and a little less demanding.  Also, Gamstops and resturaunts are in totally different leagues.  So get over yourself.
Look, you retail flunkie, I am not going to get over myself. When people are treated like this, online of all places, by a Gamestop manager, why the hell would we want to go to a Gamestop? You are the one who is supposed to be providing service to us, so I think you need to be a little more understanding and a little less demanding. Also, could you please tell us, what the hell is a "Gamstop" anyway?

Uh huh.  Read that again from the point of view of any other human society that has ever existed and try not to think it sounds silly and bratty.  Wow, you go in with $50 or $100.  That's the kind of thing you have to be conscious to be able to do.  How amazing.  You certainly deserve to treat another person anyway you want.  I mean you, gasp, have money.  I am in awe of you and the several billion other people exactly like you in that they hold some small amount of special paper.  How is it no one given you a congressional medal of honour for that?

You know exactly what I am saying, and I especially don't need the sarcasm, and I don't want a goddamn medal of anything. If they can't make a concious effort to conform to the basic rules of human decency, then they are not worthy of my respect. I have several friends in the retail business. Hell, by this time next week I am hoping to be working at a store myself. I always thought you were an intelligent and insightful person, but you are fast falling down my list of favorite Canadians. Why can't you be more like Terrence and Philip?

And you are fast falling off my list of favorite Mushroom Kingdom personalities.

The retail flunky part really got to me.  Why's everyone feel it's so okay to be so judgmental of people because of their jobs?  What, none of you ever complained about your job?  I love my job, but I still sometimes complain.  Who doesn't?  The difference is, I don't have to read people bashing my job description all over the internet.

You guys realize you get what you pay for right?  You want good service, be ready to pay $100 for a game.  Last I checked, you left the store with a game marked $49.95, you got a game, which is exactly what you paid for.  You want a servant, work harder and hire your own (to use you guy's own logic).  If the store's too disorganized, stop buying from them and the company will hire more people, pay better wages, give more training, leave supervisors on all the time, etc.  So long as you shop there, there's not a whole lot of reason for some poor guy making $8 an hour to treat you like the king of Spain.  All you are entitled to for your money is the game you are buying.  Stop whining, make some more money and hire a butler you can yell at.  Until then, your acting like royalty while paying like welfare shouldn't impress anyone, least of all yourselves.Big whoop, you got a few bucks.  Hooray for you.

or you can be like walmart and drive out the competition, offer your employees below living wages while the company rakes in billions, enforce a rule that prohibits four employees from talking together (lest they form a union), cheat workers out of overtime pay, and not offer health insurance, forcing taxpayers to pick up the slack. yeah, i like that kind of serfism better.

but i do love their low low prices.

Hello Mr. Preacher.  I'm the choir.

I haven't bought anything in Wal-Mart in, oh, a few years I guess.  Ever since I realized I had a soul and they didn't.
