Sonic R,...Sonic R....Sonic R it's not unnoticeably boring like most video games, it's not certain not good, it doesn't even have some so-bad-it's -hilarious elements, not a single stand-out good theme either.

It's just flat out nonsensical lyrics everywhere, irritating synthesis and singing.

Oh and Bubsy 3D, it has one decent theme (when Bubsy "swims"),but the rest of it is bad enough to cancel the good one out.

Generic Famiclone games tend to have dredging, gloomy music. I have a VGMax, a dedicated famiclone handheld. Decent games, but shooters have depressing music.

Maybe that's because it wasn't bad at all. It had lots of ska and punk, what did you expect?

I remember the music for James Pond on the GBA being absolutely dreadful.  Hydlide on the NES was also awful, the music was nothing but an annoying loop of the same crappy music on the title screen(which was a really lousy rip-off of the Indiana Jones theme)

These also stand-out:

Motorstorm's soundtrack wasn't anywhere near "the worst." I mean, c'mon...

    * Curve - Hell Above Water
    * Elite Force - Presha
    * Elite Force ft. Lunatic Calm - Leave You Far Behind
    * Everytime I Die - The New Black
    * Gluecifer - Automatic Thrill
    * Hyper - Hot Rockin'
    * Kings of Leon - Sprial Staircase
    * Krafty Kuts - Bass Phenomenom
    * Monster Magnet - Powertrip
    * Nirvana - Breed
    * Pendulum - Slam
    * Pitchshifter - Scene This
    * Primal Scream - Dolls (Sweet Rock 'N' Roll)
    * Primal Scream - The 99th Floor
    * Queens of the Stone Age - Medication
    * Reverend Horton Heat - Big Red Rock of Love
    * Slipknot - Before I Forget
    * Spiritualized - Electricity
    * The Experiment - Cost of Freedom
    * Trash Palace - Animal Logic

Gran Turismo 3's soundtrack was much worse. All I really remember is The Cult's "She Sells Sanctuary," and a lame Gran Turismo rap song by Snoop Dogg being played on repeat in that game.

Curse of Enchantia springs to mind. That horrible tune still lingers in the memory 17+ years on.

Haven't read all the comments on the thread but can't believe anyone would suggest Yoshi's Island! Similarly for New Super Mario Bros - not the best music in the series by a long shot but certainly not awful.

Has anyone ever tried to make a sound track to their own title?  I have. It is incredibly hard.  That is why I even the worst tune gets a thumbs up from me.

Breed and The New Black make that soundtrack for me.

I don't think you can call a soundtrack "the worst" just because you don't like any of the music on it. The music would have to be annoying or unfitting for it to count. People seem to forget that.
