FIRST Favorite Game?
I didn't realize how many favorites I had back in aught 9. Time to fire up my Mattel Electronics Football handheld again.

FIRST Favorite Game?
[QUOTE=velcrozombie]
I actually played Final Fantasy for the first time a couple of years ago (on an original NES--not one of those annoyingly modernized ports). To my surprise, I adored it. Challenging, mysterious, and not overly-complex. All of the elements of the best Final Fantasy games are there (even the music is wonderful).
While Mega Man 2 was probably my first favorite game (I got it for Christmas knowing nothing about it and was put off by the box art, but I ended up playing with it more than anything other gift), I have to give a special mention to the original Final Fantasy, which I got about 8 months later. Never had I loved a game so much that I carried the map and instruction booklet to school with me, or had I made up games on the playground using the various monsters, weapons and spells. What made me love it even more was that my cousins HATED it; they couldn't understand the appeal of a game where you didn't swing your sword yourself in real time. That truly made it a game for me and me alone.
