Metroid Prime on the Cube was highly overrated and I really wish it failed so that the series would have stayed in 2D.

You blasphemous blasphemer. Rawr!

Don't get me wrong I tried to enjoy Metroid Prime...I really did.  Except that it constantly gave me bouts of motion sickness (worse than any other FPS I had ever played).  Little by little I tried to get through the game, by playing in very short intervals.  Eventually I gave up.  How would you feel if one of your favorite franchise suddenly became unplayable?  You would be pretty pissed too.  My roomates also got motion sickness while playing too (and they never get it from FPS).  Also while Prime did receive critical acclaim it will never be considered one of the greatest game of all time. Super Metroid on the other hand is constantly in the top 10 of all time greatest game lists.

This is a very special Metroid release for me.  It is the absolute first Metroid game I won't buy.  I own the NES, GB, and SNES games, both GBA games, both GC games, and Metroid Pinball, but I won't be buying this.  I also suffer from motion sickness when playing the first-person Metroids.  And frankly, I don't think the Metroid series should have anything to do with *ugh* "deathmatches".  I think their nature is diametrically opposed to the spirit of Super Metroid; I don't think the average online-FPS junkie would appreciate the more cerebral experience of playing through Super Metroid (I'm thinking of neighbors and friends, not you, oh angry exception).  It seems that Nintendo is trying to capture more of that market that has written them off as the "kiddy" developer/publisher with this one, and I don't like it one bit.

my code is 1160 3165 8708.  atarifever and ssx, I added both of you.

(the only thing that disturbs me is the voice that says "ULTRAMASSACRE!" when you kill five people in deathmatch... does Metroid have to turn into *such* a blatant Quake knockoff? ["KILLING SPREE!"])

I've never heard it say anything to me .  I haven't killed anyone in it yet (I only played three matches).  In two I was outgunned by people who have somehow already had enough time to get flawless at headshots (everytime they fired I died) and who somehow knew every good place to camp in the level.  In the third I didn't die at all and snuck around the level in alt form (very slowly and with much thinking) to get in a position to take out a sniper, but the game ended and the sniper won because the other guy had kept running directly at him firing wildly.  I'm still getting the hang of it I guess.

I'm getting better, I faced some one I know named jeff and he got one kill on me and zero deaths then we had to wrap up.  To add issult to injury he was using the clunky button layout.  Though he did master the demo, and I didn't that's for sure.  But I don't look like a cave man and he does so I win that battle.    I whomped my friends though, all hail weavels half turret!

I have only been online once (I beat 3 noobs), but I have owned MP: H since September, and I have nearly conquered Campaign mode. I would say it is the Best DS Game of 2006.

How is this game different from the first Hunters on DS?  Is it just Hunters 2 or is there a different name for it?  I have the first Hunters, and once I got used to the control I was amazed at how well it played.  It feels almost like cheating to have that kind of control available without a keyboard and mouse.

I'm confused Paul. Are they talking about a sequel, or are you talking about the demo that came with the DS?

i have no idea.  I'm talking about Metroid Prime Hunters on the DS.  Been out as long as I've seen DSs out there.  They seem to be talking about one that was just released, but they just keep calling it Hunters.  It must be a new one.

Metroid Prime Hunters has only been out since March, 2006.  At least, the full game has only been out that long.  The Metroid Prime Hunters demo, named "First Hunt", came out as a freebie with the first DS shipments a few years ago.
