Debates you are tired of.

[QUOTE=Luke]I get really tired of people arguing and saying bad things about the official Xbox 360 or PS3 controller when it relates to certain genres of games like fps, fighting or racing games.

People say things like "The 360 is better for fps's because the triggers on the Dualshock suck, or the PS3 is better for fighting games since the d-pad on the 360 controller is so bad"

Sure, everyone has a right to offer their opinion and prefer one controller over another. But the fact of the matter is that there are a lot of third-party controllers and cross-platform adapters out there that could possibly resolve these issues.

So just because the 360 controller stinks for fighting games... that doesn't mean you have to automatically gravitate towards the PS3 version to play them. THERE ARE other controller options on the 360 like the Street Fighter IV Fightpad, various arcade joysticks, and even PS3-to-360 controller adapters (if you still love the Dualshock) for sale on the internet.

The same can be said about the Dualshock and shooters on the PS3. There are a lot of third-party controllers available. Heck, you can even hook up a standard USB keyboard & mouse to your PS3 with an dedicated USB adapter.

So the bottomline is, you don't have to be stuck with the official controller on any system. There are plenty of other control options out there. So saying one system is better than another for a certain genre of games just because of the controller is a bad argument.

But, if you have a preference for one type of game over another, you might as well get the console with the controller that's bests suited for it out of the box rather than the console where you have to put down more money for additional controllers.

The only way to really play fighters at a decent level is to use a proper arcade stick though.
