Yeah, thanks Critic......just when I thought I was completely done buying classic video games for the rest of my life you give DK II an A+.

I always thought Donkey Kong was pretty good but found it boring after a while due to it having only four boards. Give me Miner 2049er any day over the Kong!

But your review has motivated me to seek and buy this game. NINE boards? And on my first love, the Intellivision!?!?! I don't know about finding it on E-Bay but I just purchased it from this site:

I'm new to the homebrew scene but look forward to playing this baby.

I have been corrected once again!  The real name is D2K Arcade!
I am so confused.

I did include a link in the review which tells you where you can buy the game.

Wow, I never thought I'd live to see the day that you took another look at some of these games (such as Turbo).  Your previous review of it must date back to one of the earliest reviews on your site -- I'm guessing from some time in the late 1990s?  That shows you how long I've been reading your reviews!    I'm curious -- do you keep copies of your old reviews around somewhere offline for nostalgia's sake?

Anyhow, sounds like you upgraded it pretty significantly -- if I remember correctly, your previous review had it as an F(?).  Isn't it funny how our tastes can change as time goes by....

Here's a review of DK II Classic Game Room just uploaded. How does it compare to the Critic's?

Thanks Critic for the good review of Turbo.

I have always thought it deserved better and have never been disappointed with my purchase of it for the Intellivision.

Of course the fellow I bought it from thought it was for the Colecovision and only charged me $4.00. Which I thought was fair after reading all the negative info. Then I played it and thought it wasn't such a bad game.

Thanks again!

Sure thing. I happen to be a fan of Classic Game Room myself. Lots of positivity and good natured humor in his reviews.

Fellow Intellivision lovers - you simply have to get this game!

My copy came in the mail yesterday.  It is amazing.  The Critic nailed it in his review: it is what Donkey Kong 3 should have been, it truly is a seamless continuation of this classic and above all the control is ultra tight.  I am a big fan of the Intellivision controller and was impressed how crisp the control is on the game.

I was equally impressed with the sound.  It's exactly like the arcade.

Thanks for the great review which motivated me to get this gem.

I snagged myself an Intellivision off of ebay, pretty much with the sole intent of playing D2K (well, to be fair there are plenty of other INTV games I want to play, but I never would have gotten one now without Dave's review of this game).  And so far I have to say that I'm not disappointed one bit.  The game has lived up to my expectations and maybe even surpassed them.

I want to thank the author of this game for not dumbing things down.  The game is incredibly hard -- and that's a good thing!  After playing the original Donkey Kong over and over, it's refreshing to play something new that retains the spirit of the original.  One of my favorite aspects of the game is the thrill of discovery you get when playing new, never before seen levels.  They are brilliant and just as fun as the originals.

Considering the cartridge comes with the also excellent DK Arcade, this game is a steal for $50.  Hopefully there is a part 3 somewhere on the horizon.
