PS4 has no DRM/on-line restrictions!

Postby VideoGameCritic » June 10th, 2013, 10:56 pm

It's official from E3.  Sony is taking the OPPOSITE approach from Microsoft.  You will be able to continue to enjoy your disc-based games off-line just like you have on your PS3.  This news was greeting to a rousing ovation.

This is great news for collectors like myself who actually value the ownership of my games.

Microsoft is in trouble, and it couldn't have happened to a nicer company.  Sony will be eating their lunch for the entire next generation.  Microsoft really served this one up on a silver platter.  What a bunch of incompetent idiots.

I think Sony listened to gamers and responded.  Let's face it - there was a huge groundswell against DRM and the always-on model.  Our voices were heard.

So when it comes time to buy a new console this holiday, you can pick up a PS4 without any trepidations whatsoever.  And remember you have $500 in your pocket that you saved by not buying an Xbox One.

As I have said since the first XBone conference: Xbox is a failure.  It's done now.

And it's only $399 someone just told me.

MS is in serious trouble unless they make some quick changes.

Well, looks like this DRM Fiasco was primarily an unprecedented partnership between EA and MS...wow.

Add in $500 for the cable box router, and I think MS is in some bad shape now - they screwed themselves.  This makes the people who defended the DRM look even more silly considering that it will not be in any sense an industry standard. The question now is - 'why Xbox?' If you ignore it it will go away.

Sony is now charging for online pay, has MS announced any new details or wrinkles with LIVE? Takes some time to sort out the details and dates after these conferences....

The fact that the PS4's launch price is last-gen range (earlier in the 360's life), it just spells doom for Microsoft even further.

Meh, still not counting out MS, i'll be getting a One once the price drops.  Also MS has announced that Live memberships will carry over from the 360 to the One.  It's still way too soon to call it a failure, it's not done by a longshot.

This was most definitely a Sony WIN! I'm not even going to consider an Xbox One it's PS4 all the way.

Sell that MS stock if you own it!
