Psyched for the fall?

Postby VideoGameCritic » August 30th, 2014, 11:33 am

It seems like this summer has been a barren wasteland of games.  Not many titles released.  Apparently the publishers are saving all of the good stuff for the fall.

So tell me, what upcoming games are you psyched up about?  Also, which ones do you think I, the VGC, should be looking forward to?

Nice topic! Many gamers have been fervently anticipating Destiny for a long time now. I'm not really that interested in it but if the reviews are good, I may pick it up at a later date.

There are a few great Vita releases on the horizon, believe it or not. I'm most excited by the following:

Natural Doctrine

Freedom Wars

I'm personally looking forward to Destiny, Far Cry 4, COD Advanced Warfare, Alien Isolation, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, The Evil Within, Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal, Escape Dead Island and Tales from the Borderlands.

I think you should be excited for Sonic, COD, Far Cry, Borderlands, Evil Within, Isolation and Sunset Overdrive.

I'm with Vexer in thinking you'll like Sunset Overdrive. If I had an Xbox One, that'd be high on my list as well. On Wii U, probably Mario Maker, Bayonetta 2, and Captain Toad will be great options for you for various different reasons. I'm most excited for Mario Kart DLC, Amiibos, and Bayonetta 2.

I've never heard of Freedom Wars though. I just watched the trailer. It looks pretty cool. I'm excited for Hyrule Warriors and Fairy Fencer F.

It's one of the first times I'm not looking forward to getting any specific game... I'll probably buy Super Smash Bros. 3DS (just because it's made with so much love for gaming, not because I actually enjoy the gameplay) and Sonic Shattered Crystal for 3DS (just because I'm a long-time Sonic fan, however since Sonic Lost World my expectations are pretty low). For download-only on 3DS I'm waiting for Gunman Clive 2 (part 1 was a nice, cheap little game) and Shovel Knight (when it will finally be released in Europe).

For my other main console (Xbox 360) I don't see any upcoming games I need to get. I'm bored with FPS games.

It's going to be a great time to be a Nintendo fan this Fall/Winter. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, Mario Maker, Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker, Bayonetta 2, Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire (remakes of my favorite generation, to boot), etc.
