VGC T-Shirt Designs?

Postby VideoGameCritic » November 16th, 2014, 3:24 pm

I'm looking into using one of the "print your own T-Shirt" sites to make official Video Game Critic T-shirts available for purchase.

What kind of designs would you suggest?  I was thinking the joystick logo on the back, along with the URL and perhaps a quote.  The front might have a smaller logo on the front pocket area.

Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome.

I prefer minimalistic designs like the one you suggested. Perhaps a few themed after different video game characters or consoles. A Vectrex or Dreamcast-themed shirt would be amazing!

I'd like the original logos of all the old brand names like Atari & Nintendo. How about a solid wood grain stripe on each of the sleeves. If you don't like logos how about patches of the mascots like Bonk & Sonic. Remember those old Atari patches you could mail in for high scores? That sorta artwork would be awesome. Maybe take some inspiration from the old Atari & intellevision box art & you can never go wrong with Tron!

I will not buy a shirt, sorry. I don't wear website shirts, even cool ones. What I would buy, 100% for sure, is either a drinking glass or coffee mug. A lot of those "print your own shirt" sites allow for those easily as well once you upload designs for the shirts. I would love a beer mug or a nice whiskey glass or a coffee mug with the VGC joystick logo on it.

I'm totally on board for some sweet swag.

Heck, I remember monkeying around with one of those T-Shirt shops trying to play around with a banner to see if I could make one for myself.

Count me in for a T-shirt or with winter hitting, a hoodie.

I will definitely buy a shirt, and if you decide on a coffee mug or drinking glass, I'll buy that too.

As for the shirt design, I'd say simple is better, but there's so much you can do here. As Scotland said, I'd just be careful about getting into any trademark issues.

Looking forward to it!

GREAT idea about the mugs and other items.  I'm sure there are other vendors who would support those.  (let me know if you know of any).

To avoid copyright issues I'd probably stick with the joystick logo, the URL, and a quote.

Any ideas for an amusing quote I could use??
