Other than what you held in your hands?

How did it work out for you?

Croc, the Legend of Gobbos. This was actually a gift, and boy was it a gift. I can't seem to find my Croc disc anywhere, which makes me sad kind of because that was my "Super Mario 64" back then.

I was still bad at the first game compared to the second.

The last time I made a blind buy was when I found a budget 360 title called "Raven Squad" on the used shelf at Gamestop, it turned out to be a pretty decent RTS/FPS game.

Every Nintendo NES game![rofl]  I did not have Nintendo Power and rentals had not hit my town. But by the time the Genesis came out I had better knowledge. Thanks Sega Visions and Gamepro! Okay Mike Ditka Football was probably the last. What a Stinker.

I got Twisted Metal 3 on the strength of the first 2 and it sucked. Since then I've at least looked at screenshots.

A while ago I bought Battle Fantasia for Xbox 360 from a local store. I saw the Aksys logo on the front and the screenshots on the back and thought "Yeah. This looks like my kinda game." And you know what? I was right. It is a great fighting game. It's a good thing we have stores like this. I've never heard anyone talk about the game before or since I bought it so if I didn't find it in that store, I might have never even known it existed. Before that, I had the same experience in the same store with Castle Shikigami 2 for PS2.

Test Drive Offroad (PS1): Crap
Tunnel B1 (PS1): Crap
Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS4): I did not enjoy it.
The Last of Us Remastered (PS4): Best game I've ever played
Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition (PS4): Another terrific game.

So it's been pretty much hit or miss.

Mighty Max for the SNES.  I actually convinced myself I was enjoying it, too.

Without knowing anything at all about it? I think Body Harvest (N64) from the used store, circa 2002.
Without knowing it would disappoint me right away?  Super Mario Galaxy or Kirby's Epic Yarn.
