By Crom, that Conan game looks neat.
About all I found was on the ballyalley site, saying it was still a prototype. Its 8k, part of the strategy series, cart 5005, also called Quest for the Orb as no one got the Conan license, which in 1985 was a hot property. They say only 40 carts were made. Hyped to actually be associated with the movie. So, that Alley Oop looking dude is Arnold.
Did it seem unfinished?

A Conan game. Makes me want to buy an Astrocade even more, plus it sounds like a good game.

The Conan game seems like it was really ahead of its time. A level up meeter in a 2nd generation console is a really cool feature and the precise controls for something with really only one button is also neat. Thanks for highlighting this game.
2 other games that are Frogger wannabees aren't as interesting but at least chicken reenacts why the chicken crossed the road.

Conan seems like a finished game to me. The only thing missing is a full manual explaining everything.

Once again, your site Dave is about it on all the interwebs discussing this Conan game. Just amazing. I never thought much about this Astrocade system, but maybe its one of those "I couda been a contender" storylines. Look at Astro Battle there...I love my Odyssey 2, but holy cow, look at the Wizard of Wor game. Of course, can you imagine having this system only to fail to find any games for sale. I'm sure that happened to many a kid.
Great stuff. You wrote that many Astrocade games only take up the upper part of the screen? That is an odd thing.

I'm playing these off my Astrocade multicart by the way. Otherwise these games would be nearly impossible to get a hold of.
