Should the COA on an Xbox game case ever have any smudging?

Postby Verm3 » January 4th, 2016, 9:30 am

I've been wondering yet again about telling a legitimate game from a fake.

Should the COA on any Xbox game DVD case opening ever have any smudging at all?

Certificate of Authenticity, pretty much a required notice for selling and even justifying a price tag.

Indeed. as Hardware Sadism implies, the COA is the 'Certificate of Authenticity' on all Microsoft products.

On Xbox games, the COA is the sticker across the DVD case opening; if a 'new and sealed game' lacks it, then it's an obvious reseal or fake. But naturally, the COA can and has been duplicated.
