1975 Atari VCS Prototype

Postby scotland » December 23rd, 2016, 3:44 pm

An Atari 2600 prototype. Donated by one of the team responsible. I don't know why the board marked memory has dozens of chips, except each may have had a small amount of code to test a function.

From the first photo:
Developers wrote and assembled software on a DEC PDP-11 minicomputer, and then downloaded it for testing.

All that memory's emulating a cartridge ROM.
