Uh, no. While it has 20 stages from earlier Mario Kart games, it also has 20 all-new ones. Have you actually PLAYED the game?

I think his point was that it PLAYED the same.

Yes I have played the game and I liked it, but it was very familiar. That is just my opinion, if you think it is highly original that is yours, I really don't care either way. Like I said, I enjoyed the game but didn't find it to be all that original.

I never claimed Mario Kart DS was a highly original game. It's Mario Kart, we know what we're getting. The point is that the stages are more fun.

Just like Ridge Racer. Every Ridge Racer game plays exactly the same. Yet it's possible for a Ridge Racer game to be the best in the series, isn't it?

That's actually wrong.  Ridge Racer 1, Revolution and 5 played in one style.  Rage Racer, Type 4 and 6 played in a completely different style.

Actually 6 should really be counted as a new off shoot for the series in terms of playstyle.  While it had the dynamics of the Type 4 breed the triple nitrous completely changed the way a race is played and the tactics used.

Not trying to change the subject here, but has anyone seen that crazy Japanese commerical for Mario Kart DS?  It's short but hilarious!
