2017/3/12: Super Nintendo: Hit the Ice, ESPN National Hockey Night
I wanted to get out all three Hit the Ice reviews so you could compare them. The National Hockey Night review is a re-review.

The Hit the Ice trilogy is complete! 
It's hard to imagine how anyone could think it was OK to release a game with that much sprite breakup and such janky animation, especially when compared to the other ports.
It's playable -- I was able to beat the SNES version on the game's equivalent of medium difficulty -- so I agree that a D- is fair. But man, is that first moment when you start a match disappointing.
BTW there's a Game Boy version too if you want to keep torturing yourself. And, if you have a flash cart, there's an unreleased NES version that's been dumped (i.e. the ROM is out there) and includes RPG elements (!!).
