Man... some of you guys get a LOT of stuff, wow.

I got one present and one present only, a flow hive for keeping bees. I'm really, really excited to give that a shot this year. Keeping bees is something I've wanted to do for many, many years now.

To be fair, all four of us got snowshoes and the boys each got a GT Snowracer. Personally, I also got a three-year membership in a political party and a bunch of workout stuff. I think it balanced out well. :)

I know man. I think $100-150 is spent on each family member, and typically less for me (the dad). I usually get a couple of books and some clothes I need for work. It’s all good though. Our Wii (given to us by my brother, who got a Switch) scratches the gaming itch just fine, and I typically go to the movies to see something during the holiday break. Honestly, aside from a new book every couple of years (I’m a slow reader), I rarely see anything that I want.

Retro Gamer Magazine is a nice magazine, with cool articles and excellent style/pictures. However, I feel that this British magazine is a little too focused on its home market - the UK. So, you'll also get a lot of articles about the ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC (and so on) that were mainly popular in the UK. Of course, also classic developers from Japan, the US, France and Germany get attention. However, I feel 'smaller gaming countries' (like The Netherlands, where I am from) get little to no attention.... anyway, nice magazine nonetheless.

For Christmas I got Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for the original Wii, which I haven't played yet. Does anyone know if it's any good?

I managed to get a set of Switch Joy Controllers and along with the insert (the thing they sit in to act as a controller. The insert is a also doubles as a charging station so that is cool. I treated my self to the Sega HD flashback console. It's on its way so a full review is forthcoming. Happy New Year!

I used the money people gave me to get a Switch. It’ll be arriving on Friday. Plan to pick up Mario and download a few games. Probably snipperclips, Vs Super Mario and Mighty Gunvolt Burst. Really want Puyo Puyo Tetris but might wait and see if it goes on sale.
