Apparently, the actor who plays Sheldon is ready to move on.

Bummer. It's one of the few shows my wife and I watch together. All good things...

I watched BBT for the first 6 or 7 seasons. I do like the show although I realize that the show is a bit over hyped. Still, it's been a guilty pleasure.

12 seasons is quite a bit of time for a show to run so I'm not sad to see it go. Better to end before it gets terrible (if it isn't there... haven't watched in several years).

I wouldn’t go that far but I never could get into this show. Nothing wrong with it just not my spo’ o’ tea.

I enjoyed it until they all coupled up. It then seemed to lose something. A lot of comedies tend to follow this route, the cast becomes to big and the dynamic changes.

I’ve seen maybe two episodes - hated them both. I just don’t think it’s funny, and if you youtube videos of their “jokes” with the laugh track it’s even less funny. Compared to its contemporaries like Curb Your Enthusiasm, or other network commedies like The Office or Parks and Rec it doesn’t hold up.

I agree with David on this one. I'm not shedding any tears for BBT's ending.

I though shows like The Office and Arrested Development would pave the way for a future of laugh track free sitcoms. I don't know why this format still has appeal when the jokes themselves can't stand on their own. It's just not a funny show.

Tried watching The Office. Didn't find it funny.

A lot of new comedies seem to be about watching people squirm in awkward social situations. I don't find that funny; I find that awkward. They also seem to have a poor sense of comic timing. I did like The Big Bang Theory till the jokes got to sexual. Different people = different tastes.

Laugh tracks are annoying; they always sound artificial, but audience laughter can sound natural, & comedians can use audience reactions to time their jokes, so I prefer comedies with live audiences.

While we're at it, can we end the re-runs as well? Horrible show! Often my wife likes to watch the news on Fox, and BBT comes on afterwards. I'll be wondering who's doing all the whining as I rush downstairs to grab the remote.
