Games to Play When You're Sick?

Postby VideoGameCritic » January 9th, 2019, 12:17 pm

Home from work today sick. *sad face* Any recommendations of games that are good to play when sick?
I suspect ALL OF THEM is a valid answer, but wanted to throw it out there is case anyone has a more imaginative suggestion.

Hmmm... Probably one of those hand held Atari 2600 Flashback consoles that the folks at At Games have put out. Because not only do you not have to get up out of bed or off the couch to change games. You can also use the pause feature whenever you have to stop playing to take some cold medication, eat some chicken soup, or to wipe your nose if it gets too runny. Just be sure to have it fully charged up, and you should be good to go.

Btw. get well soon. Nothing worse than feeling under the weather...

If I'm sick enough to stay home I never play video games. I just want to sleep and zone out on the couch with the TV on.

I too have been sick the past few days, cough cough.

Gaming wise, I always revisit retro titles when ill.

Yesterday I played Gremlins 2 on the NES. Let me tell you, this game is awesome.

The day before Mario 2 on the NES was played.

Today, Super Mario World.

Hope you get well soon.

Play Microsurgeon on the Intellivision. You'll be cured in no time.

I know from your Gamecube reviews that you don't care for Animal Crossing, but that's one series I love to play whenever I'm sick and just need something to help me relax. Like, just mess around and do things at my own pace and having fun with Animal Crossing New Leaf or something before I get back to resting. That aside, I'm fond of old Gameboy games like Tetris and Game & Watch Gallery. So I guess I just prefer 'pick up and play' arcade/casual games whenever I'm sick to help pass time with a few minutes of fun in between rests and stuff

This would make a great commercial.

"Are you a registered physician?"
"No, but I played Microsurgeon for the Intellivision last night!"

My immediate go-to whenever I’m sick are compilations. I was actually sick during Christmas weekend, so I popped in Sega Genesis Classics for Switch. The reason why is because there is something comforting about having convenient variety; instead of getting up to change a game, I can just hold the “—“ button and flip through the library.

Stay away from first-person shooters.
